It is a shame that these things happen and even worse that if caught probably just get a slap on the wrist.

Interesting, I've bought a few Rolexes and Breitlings from that location and know that salesman. They never have security there.

The man they identified is actually from February's robbery. That suspect is still at large. They still haven't ID'd the recent robber publicly.

i'm surprised that they didn't figure out how to not have it happen a second time. i imagine they'll put some measures in place to prevent a 3rd.

"No visible security personnel" seems to be a Mayor's protocol ... I have friends at this store and the one at the Sanford Mall, and except at shows, they never have an armed guard. Strange policy ....

I'm very glad that no one got hurt; insurance will cover the loss (and we the consumer will pay for the insurance ...).

Cheers!
Bill

Mayors in a mall near me got hit several months ago by armed robbers in broad daylight. they took the entire Rolex inventory. To the best of my knowledge, they were never caught.

That no security policy is silly. If you enter the higher end stores such as the Rolex boutique Royal De Versailles in Toronto, you first have to step into a small mantrap and only once the door behind you closes does the one in front of you open. This is all controlled by a Toronto Police Constable who is inside right in front of the door. If people really want to buy such a watch, they wont mind the security.

I really surprised a place like this didn't have a security guard in front. Almost every high end jeweler I've ever been to does, even the mall ones.

They'll probably get this guy eventually, since there's so much footage and since there were probably lots of witness. Plus, a guy like that will probably be stupid enough to wear it and brag to all his friends or something. Hope they catch him soon.

When I bought my GMT, my AD. they have a big plainclothes guy in a suit not far from the door. He does not take his eye off of you. Of course, it is a smaller place than Mayors and only has one way in or out.

seriously at least ask for ID before handing over a 30K watch
silly
asking for trouble.. imagine going to a bank and asking if you can see and HOLD $30K??
same difference !
