Asking for 8 watches at once will get you no where in my opinion
Get one then start building SAs will roll their eyes getting a list like that And spending six figures on watches in a year in NYc is sadly not that special |

I agree. This approach shows them that all you want is a watch that says "Rolex", which doesn't really separate you from a lot of other people willing to buy the specific models that you've asked for. At least show some passion for the 1, 2 or max. 3 models that you really really want.

So the OP apparently woke up one morning and decided he NEEDS 14 Rolexes ASAP.
The first question is why? Why the IMMEDIATE/ASAP need for 14 Rolexes (8 initially), including 5 SS DJ's? Why? Where's the time to enjoy each piece for what it is? Buying multiple pieces in quick succession usually means they all just become so much "stuff": things to be ticked off a list and then stored in a drawer. What's the reason for needing an instant collection? It doesn't feel like a genuine love of watches IMO. However, IF (and it's a big IF) this is a genuine post by the OP, I'd agree with others and say just go grey. All the instant gratification you could ever require. Sure you'll pay a bit more, but not that much more for most of those models, and then you can tell anyone you want to impress what a great collection you have in a matter of days. Win win!

Good plans, but I doubt if that works, you can go grey and get all in a short time if you have the $$

Yesterday at the AD, I tried on, again, the BLNR jubilee they have for exhibition display. I make sure they know that either bracelet will do... somedays I think one would be better than the other, so I'm not picky. But they had a Submariner 124060 as an exhibition piece. This is my #3 pick. Really like that one. They said having more than one choice is a good thing. Any of those three and I'm done. They were nice about choices.
The head Rolex person at this store gave me a Rolex magazine #11 (Rolex and Motor Sport content!) and I was on my way way. Sometimes you can only do so much to acquire pieces you want. |

All I can say is good luck OP.
I'm trying not to sound mean but what you're asking for is a bit of a pipe dream. Every wannabe influencer/flexer wants a Rolex/AP/PP/VC. Difference is some people can and will drop that kind of money you're proposing on a single watch, so you saying you'll do a 6 figure spend is far less meaningful than someone who can come in and do it on a single watch. Also I've never heard of anyone other than VIP that have had a laundry list of watch requests that have ever been given a single allocation. Better to focus on one or two to start off with and go from there. |

Building history at AD
No AD is going to be receptive to you walking in and giving a list of 10+ Rolexes you want. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if this is what you’ve told the Ad’s you’ve visited it’s safe to assume they’ve written you off and you won’t be getting a call. Judging by this list money isn’t an issue so I’m going to save you a lot of time and money in the long run and tell you to just buy all of these on the secondary and be done with it.
Will take years to complete this collection from an AD and a lot of $ spent in the process. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

To quote the meme, "Why not both?"
Ask for a single DJ from the AD; but something juicy grey. Build slowly. |

Ad's still have plenty of clients for every watch that comes in especially in New York. They try to satisfy as many clients as possible. If they have ten of the pieces on your list does it make sense to sell all ten to you or ten different customers that they can all make happy.
Your journey will take time. Start with 1 or 2 "easier" pieces and go from there. I would deal with a manager of the store as well. Be mindful that your spend still may not qualify you for a daytona in New York |

Think of it as building a relationship not primarily a spend history. Experienced SAs can see right through commodity buyers as opposed to real collectors.

I don’t agree with people telling you to go grey. With the funds you are willing to put in you should establish a good relationship for the future. Going grey you won’t have that.
The datejusts and day dates will get you in the good graces of an AD and should allow you to get some desirable pieces. Will just come down to the execution. Don’t be too entitled.

Your list of 13 watches looks like you’re trying to stock your new reseller store. No AD will take this seriously or deliver 13 watches “ASAP.”

I am really curious if the OP is A. filthy rich with money to burn and B. in his/their 20’s. That would be the only explanation for this thread that makes any sense.

Seriously? I need to confirm that you're not joking... One of my best friends lives in Singapore and when I researched what's the wait like over there, it came up as possibly the worst of all options... But I guess that's for people who want one or two watches without history?

I'm in my late 30s. What do you consider filthy rich? I make 750k a year. Wouldn't call that filthy rich

To what end goal? If you've lived in NYC or the Bay Area, you'd know how little 150k means (t)here. A software engineer in big tech makes 190-210k right out of college with 0 years of experience these days. After 5-6 years the pay is in the 350-400k range... Not counting RSU (stock grant) growth. Big law pays slightly more. I don't see what's so outlandish...

Hey good for you (genuinely), but the apparent urgency to acquire several Rolexes seems odd. Going back to your original question, I would think some AD would hopefully take you seriously but you may need to speak to an AD manager and explain what you are looking to accomplish and if it is even possible. As others have said, most AD’s either can’t or won’t accommodate such requests. Maybe they start you with a PM model and help you build your collection from there? |
