I care. You love to speak for everyone in your posts. You can disagree with people and “not care”, but I would advise you to stop trying to find strength and confidence at the expense of “everyone”. Your “nobody cares” nonsense is very self righteous and offensive. Just speaking for myself, of course.

I see no issue with a thank you gift if you feel someone has gone above and beyond. I don’t like it to be expected.

kept checking the dates of these posts not believing that this thread wasn't old (too many phrases seemed familiar) - too lazy to do forum forensics - believe that if in your heart, the SA has gone out of their way to help you with the purchase, a gift is fine as long as it doesn't give the appearance of expecting something in the future

It’s always nice to be appreciated for work well done but when you look at the lengths people go through to get a watch I’d question how good that service they provide really is. Now if you have got your eyes on other reference’s down the line I guess people are trying to protect their interests

I actually gave the watch that I waited over a year for to the SA. They called me five weeks later with another that I kept after buying.

I personally see an AD like any other shop and a salesrep like any other sales people. Treat them with respect, thank them for their service and help and pay the price for the product. There most likely will be a nice commission in it for the rep.

I gave my SA a substantial gift certificate to a classy local restaurant: he delivered on his promise and he's also a genuinely honest and nice person.

Habibi, the sale is sufficient. Thank them by showing up in a few months with en watch on your wrist and ask for a bracelet clean up.

I have given my SA (women) nice bags, (men) bottles, nice restaurant GC.. they take real good care of me I only have three AD I deal with on a regular basis and one Grey for discontinued watches.
Showing gratitude (not bribing) will go a long ways! It’s cool you went out of your way to pick something up to drop in with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No tips from me. I’m breaking into my piggy bank to afford the watches, as it is. I loved getting a gift FROM the AD, though, last weekend.

I took it as, the SA wanted the watch for themselves to purchase and wear. The customer gave the SA the opportunity to purchase the watch simply. I could be wrong, but to purchase a Rolex as a gift to your SA, feels like a conflict of interest and should be avoided. A gesture that large can lead to further implications both negative to each party |

If true, the SA should have declined that gift. Way over the top gesture, and inappropriate for the SA to accept such a gift. Weird on both ends. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

The cultural differences regarding this is interresting. At the ADs I visit the SAs are not allowed to accept any gifts from existing or future customers.
I do however enjoy the gifts they give me when I visit, or send to me. |

How on earth are you finding any stock at your AD? I’ve been looking for a 116500LN since 2021! Still don’t have one. Can’t bring myself to pay 30k for it!

Was this the DJ or is it another model? Look forward to seeing the photos! I bought my SA some boutique dessert as a gesture and it was well received. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don’t by a gift for my AD when i buy a watch, but I always take a bottle of wine or whisky in for Christmas for the guy I deal with and large box of luxury chocolates for the rest of the store team.
It’s small family owned business and I’ve had a good relationship with them for over ten years, which I hope will continue for a lifetime. I don’t do it to secure any favour, I do it just because it’s a nice thing to do and walking into that store is like walking into my local pub, it’s a friendly place to be. It’s nice to be nice. Well, later the store manager came up to me and asked if I had given money to the associate because I assume they aren't allowed to accept. I said no, but I'm sure he must have seen me do it. I considered it a tip for a tough job done well. Hope I didn't get him in trouble. |

I had an SA that got me a couple in-demand watches back in 2019 and 2020. I got her a gift certificate to a local restaurant. I considered ordering donuts for the office, as I wanted to get something she could share with the others in the shop, but opted for the restaurant gift card.

I use to do this back when I felt like I was getting a shopping experience in line with the price of the product. Now I’d not entertain it. Just understand it’s no longer a way to differentiate yourself from other buyers unless you come with an envelope and cash. You need to be family or a big jewelers spender.

My AD does not take gifts. He has a box in the store for donations for Feeding Westchester and you can give what you want.

Also, I asked around and the consensus on Reddit was that cash is king for gifts. An envelope stuffed with cash seemed a bit tacky to me so I went with VISA gift cards. If you have a SA that will advocate for you I think it helps (combined with spend). There’s that and also jumping through all their hoops. They invite you to an event or charity event, you buy something or donate. Etc… |

I really liked how well I was treated by my AD. I bought a green sub and it was my first purchase from them.
I’m thinking of buying a couple cheap Starbucks gift cards for the three that helped me. More of a joke though for he Starbucks name of the watch. I think it would be funny and they would know how much I appreciate them. |
