Send it to RSC for a quote, seems like a straight forward replacement of half a bracelet of permanent links without the clasp and removable links.

That oakley case protected the watch case and crystal? Seems like a good thing out of a bad accident.

I haven't anything to add on the repairs side of things, but hats off to you on how you're handling the situation.

Do keep us posted as to how it pans out.

Rolex will likely sell you a new half bracelet if you send it in and specify that is all you want. Usually they try to sell a whole new bracelet, but it is clear that this is damaged and the rest is in good condition..

It is possible that a qualified AD watchmaker can order you a half bracelet because of the damage... give one a call.
Agree with Larry even for a good watchmaker that not a easy fix to repair,so half bracelet is the way to go.

I kept thinking about your story all day....
Your Father must be an incredible guy to have raised a son whose first thought is about his Dad's feelings. I hope I have done half as good a job with my son.

I was wondering what could have done that to a bracelet. Keeping my cool during something like that is very admirable to say the least. Hat's off to you man.

I like the half bracelet idea versus a repair...by far. Please update us when it's done.

I'm very impressed with your reaction. I wish I could react like that however I suspect that would have spoiled my day.

Please keep us updated.

And Larry, thank you much. I did not realize a half bracelet could be ordered. That would be perfect for my situation. My thoughts were RSC would keep the whole bracelet and send a new one without any say on my behalf. I will pursue this with my AD.

RSC can order this for you :

Thank you, I appreciate this post. These four links are indeed the half bracelet mentioned earlier. My AD was very accommodating on the phone this morning. I was told this part will take 6-8 weeks to arriive.

I will disclose my final costs when the watch is made whole. And again, thank you to all. The replies are very kind.

Great gesture not to tell your dad.
This is 100% incorrect.
