I think the decision to make the SS SkyD was a way to make the model more feasible to the masses. As a WG SkyD owner, it was a shock, because I thought they'd give it similar notoriety and prestige as the DD. However, I thought the initial premiums on the grey market would make the preowned WG more alluring with such a small price gap (considering). I like the exclusivity they created with discontinuing the original PM dials. I also have the TT, and that would go long before the WG with Romans.

I was just curious if there was some publication or information out there that credibly states why certain models and dials are discontinued.
I'm with you on the assumptions and hate to make them myself. I can't speak for other discontinuations but in the case of the PM Sky-Ds, they consolidated dial options drastically. That's usually (but not always) a good indicator of low sales -- at least in this particular case.

In case of wg sky-ds, it is dial exclusivity as well as material (wg) exclusivity, given that they don't make any wg sky-d anymore. As an owner I'm also pretty happy about it,
