Why not call the everose Sky-Dweller with chocolate dial “Hershey”

Why are so many nicknames so American dominated? No one eats that over here.

That dial has been discontinued due to lack of sales. The chances of any nickname sticking to it are slim. "Chocolate Sky-Dweller" might be about as close as you'll get.

That's good since we need fewer watches with nicknames.

A nickname in line with Superhero themes like Batman & Hulk would be more macho?

We could call it "The Marmite". That way it would be nicknamed after a brown substance so identifying & exclusive to there that unless you're from there nobody else eats it, not even the Aussies.

Happy?

true... and even our Cadbury Creme Egg's were being smuggled into the US as the US maker cant get the recipe correct. That was a thing a couple of years ago and customs was intercepting them at the border.

In 7 years i dont think i have seen a single Hershey bar.

I'm surprised that the chocolate was discontinued. The first time I saw an everose sky dweller in person it was a chocolate dial on leather strap and I thought it was stunning. And the chocolate dial Datejusts in TT everose are stunning.

On the other hand, the rhodium dial looks hideous with everose. That dial is much better with WG or SS.

Cadbury is better. I prefer Galaxy though, but don't know if that's international.

Marmite is not a chocolate... it's not even a food.

Lol. Actually wasn’t this watch already nicknamed “galaxy “ after a European chocolate bar?

Agreed on both points. The chocolate dial was a great option. I suspect the price and SS options may have shot the PM models in the feet. They likely reduced the number of SKUs to focus on the others.

Rhodium on Everose definitely looks off in pictures. I've not seen one in person to see how it is in the flesh. Maybe it's not too bad. Chocolate was the better dial with RG for sure.

Why is it always assumed that a dial or watch is discontinued due to a lack of sales? Where does this information come from?

Why else would they have dropped it? Certainly they didn't run out of dials.

With all of the SS options, PM Sky-Ds have competition with themselves. Plus, RG isn't the go-to option for everyone like WG and YG.

I have to say much agreed. I think they shot them self in the foot releasing a ss model, the Sky-Dweller used to be one of the most coveted watches of the brand. I have chocolate Sky-Dweller. The rhodium was a complete mistake. I have many Rolex’s in my collection and would never let go of the Sky-Dweller, my favorite ever. I don’t believe in the lack of sales

I am not a nickname fan but at this point it’s the way the WIS world operates so all should get one. I think the Black Sub should be called the “Black Panther” to keep with the superhero names. It needs to be blessed (or cursed) with a name.

I don't know. It just seems to be the default reasoning in every case. Pick a model or dial that is no longer in production. Maybe it's their strategy to freshen things up every so often. I know people hate the car analogies, but I don't think BMW started making 4 series over the 3 series due to lack of sales. I was just curious if there was some publication or information out there that credibly states why certain models and dials are discontinued.
