I’ve posted on this subject before, having worn Rolex (and better) watches daily for the last 30 years I’ve never dinged one once, in fact other than hairlines on bracelet shoulders/clasps that’s it, no scratches on crystals, bezels or cases.
Just remember what’s on your wrist and take care, to start with you have to think about it but after a while it becomes a natural instinct

I would just wear and enjoy. If you leave it a few weeks then the pain will start to ease and you can console yourself with the knowledge that it can be sorted when you get the watch serviced - no worries. Enjoy what is a great watch

Ha ha !!! We have all been there . Wait till you flood your expensive vintage sub .
My DSSD has a few dings and a cracked pearl . Looks great and I don’t worry about character marks any longer . Wear it enjoy it.

The watch is rated to 3,900 meters. I think that minuscule blemish won’t impact its performance. ;-)

The DSSD is a big old beast and it is inevitable that it will get dings and marks in normal everyday wear however hard you try. Attempting to keep a watch 100% perfect is a recipe for not enjoying that watch. Relax!

I was the same way with my DSSD. I wear mine daily, yard work, office, hunting..etc. It has become stress free now. Scratches will come, dings will come enjoy life and the watch will follow.

I had the same ding on mine and had it polished out as it happened the first week I got the watch. You will never be able to tell that material was removed to fix it as it’s a small ding and it’s high on the lug and the lugs are very thick.

This dang could be something on a a normal case but on the SD is barely visible. I would do nothing about it and keep enjoying the watch.

I feel your pain OP, we have all been there and it’s very easy for everyone to dismiss this as insignificant. But deep down (see what I did there

), this really is just a minor blemish and something that will make you smile in weeks/months/years to come.

If you bought the watch as an investment, then lock it away in the safe and don’t wear it. But if it’s a daily watch then these incidents are part of daily life and need to be embraced.

That’s impressive. Wrist awareness only goes so far though. You can’t control others around you, especially if you have little kids.

Mine has dings and scratches everywhere. I no longer notice, think it looks even better than new and it is still going strong after 9 years. Wear it and enjoy it. Get serviced by Rolliworks when the time comes and they can fix anything you want. Mine, I'm getting a movement service only.

it'll be one of many! It's always tough at first, but you'll get over it.

It's hard to tell from the pic but there's a possible a standard polish would remove it. If it's really deep though you'd need laser welding which would probably cost $250-700 depending on who does it for you.

That said, I would (as the others have mentioned) just wear it and try to forget about it. Imagine getting it fixed, sending it out for 3 weeks, paying $500 and you scratch it the first day or week of it's return lol.

No big deal, very minor. When you have it serviced in a few years, they can try to polish that out. By that time you will have other blemishes to be cleaned up.
