I used a loupe once when I bought my Sub, couldn't find anything, nada, zip. Then I thought that I'd look at another watch... damn, big mistake. I put the loupe away that day and haven't ever touched it again. If I can't see it with my eyes then I'm good to go.

Loupes are fine.
It's unrealistic expectations that are the killers. It's all a matter of perspective. Don't even think about how much empty space there is in a single atom.
