I must agree with you. I tend to wear my watches pretty hard though, and I still don't see all that much wear difference from SS to WG. I admit to things like taking of my watch when at my desk typing, but for the most part, I do everything with my watches and I don't feel that the wear is any different.

I have been wondering the same thing for a while since the Smurf is a grail watch for me. My problem is I would have to give up all 3 Rolex SS watches I currently own plus some cash. I like have a good selection (I wear a different watch every day). I am on the fence, but leaning more towards "no" at least until I grow my watch collection a little more. A least this is my thought at this moment!

HUGE fan of the WG Sub, possibly my top choice of all Rolex gold models.
With that being said, I hate the idea of getting rid of 3 watches to get it. I lean towards keeping 1 of the SS models as a daily beater and maybe trading the other 2 + cash for the WG Sub. Good luck! |

I posted the poll thread for this same dilemma about a month ago. I ended up following the advice of many members and traded in only 2 + $$ to get my RG DD2 Ivory
If 2 + cash is not an option, I'd trade 3 and get the gold! https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=332606 |

I would make the trade. The WG Sub is a really beautiful piece. I don't know when you would wear the SS models!

I wouldn't do it, I would keep at least 1 of the SS models, there are occasions that the blue just won't work ...

I love the Blue Sub, I mean really love it, ever since I first saw it. I'm just not sure about the blue being a main everyday watch.

I went through the same debate as I own 4 SS Rolex watches. I have loved the WG Blue Sub since I first saw it on the back of a Magazine ad just after it was released.
I finally came to the conclusion that like so many here have posted; I would miss the variety of the collection and will eventually trade just one in + cash to get that beautiful blue sub. When that day comes I will post the question for some opinions as to which one to trade... Good luck! |

You see GMT's, Explorer's and Daytona's in the wild every day but the white gold Sub is a rare and exclusive piece. I would do it. Once you have the white gold Sub you can start to save up and re-acquire the steel pieces over time.
