Thanks John. I agree, 100% happiness for each watch! I think that's part of this journey for me.
I've had and traded/bought again/flipped many. I've tried other brands.....SO FAR... I've learned 100% happiness in 3 things....1. The rolex brand is the one for me. 2. Platinum Daytona 3. Always have a Submariner.

And right now, I'm narrowing down 100% happiness in the number of watches I actually want in my collection.

Give it some time. Agree the colors take some getting used to. My AD has had a BLRO in the case for well over a year so have peeked at it multiple times but happy to stay put.

Still hoping a WG BNRO is in the cards and they get the red right!

I agree with you - I never warmed up to the new blro colours. They look off to me.

I have but fortunately I realized I was underwhelmed before purchasing. Flip for a WG Daytona with the blue dial. Saw one yesterday, beautiful. Or go get your smurf back. I assume YG is out... But if not YG Sub blue dial. That's not underwhelming on any level.

Yes I've had YG a couple times....DD, Sub blue dial, Daytona, Skydweller. WG just sits better with me. Don't mind TT either. With my PT Daytona, I wouldn't get the new blue dial Daytona (gorgeous though). Definitely looking back, appreciating the pop and vibrancy of the smurf.

Agree. If you have a Platona there's no need for the WG one. Or any other Daytona for that matter.

Sometimes it takes a while for the variations to grow on you. I went through this with my Hulk. I Loved it in pictures. Bought the watch.... Started to wonder if the different shades of green were for me... Now that's something I love about it. Give it some time and if not I'm sure it can find a new home quickly!

It is beautiful, and I love WG, I'm just not crazy about the bezel colors , and your pic (as well as the ones I took of mine) is a good example of what I am saying...it doesn't pop/colors aren't that dark in person..MAYBE in a certain light, but not the norm. definitely not a true red or blue ...ex: SS steel Pepsi bezel.

I am just amazed at how many people I've noticed lately who wear their watch down below their wrist bone. How can that possibly be comfortable?!

I think give it some time. Its something I noticed myself but actually like. Similar to the hulk, I don't always want it blaring green at me. But do admit many of my watches look best on my drive into work with the sun out

I'm in the camp that the older GMTs got it right....the ceramic pepsi bezel looks strange to me that the red is not deep/seems light pink and the blue looks more purple than anything else. I'd far prefer a vibrant older GMT aluminum insert or a nice fade/aged fuschia insert even. It is a cool watch....but IMO the BLNR wins here.

Hey Richard, my suggestion would be to hang in there for at least a couple of months, put the watch away, wear other pieces, then take it out and wear it again, during the day, at night, when it's sunny and on rainy days. Give it time, you may just change your mind.

In the end, if it still doesn't sing to you after all that, flip it with the peace of mind that you gave it a good try. Watches in that price range cost too much to feel anything less than perfect on the wrist.

It took me a LONG time to warm up to the BLRO. My main issue was that I kept wanting to compare the colors to the original steel version. Once I got over that and accepted it for what it is, I decided to pick it up. It's still much better looking indoors (where the colors aren't washed out) but it stands on its own merits. It also helps that I've got the 116619LB and 116618LB when I want something that pops more.

I hear you I agree, not much of a comparison to the SS bezel. I'm not sure if I'll accept it as 'it is what it is'. The colors aren't as washed out indoors, I agree, but still not completely happy yet, when I'm looking at it. Agree your other two have much more pop!

Personally love the BLRO but yet again never seen one in the wild and only seen them in an AD.

I didn't perform an action that contradicted my beliefs or values 'at the time'. But I AM confronted with new info (dull color bezel) that conflicts with my previously existing beliefs.
I am definitely striving for internal consistency, but psychologically not uncomfortable yet :)
But I may, at some point, try to actively reduce this dissonance!
Whew... I think I've addressed this issue..lol !!

I say dump and find your Smurf. If you're underwhelmed, another person may think their Smurf is underwhelming. It would be good to find that person.

I find this same thing with both RG & YG watches (the metal itself). They both look amazing in different lighting (and not so amazing in others...). Incandescent vs. LED vs. halogen vs. sunlight. All very different. I guess i just have to accept this and be less retentive.

Feel your pain. Ugh...

I actually wear mine a little looser (like a bracelet). Have for 30+ years. Can't stand anything tight on me. Whatever you get used to...

Had the same experience with the YG green dial daytona I got a week ago. However, I didn't try it on in person or see one before purchasing, but I was sure I'd love it. I just didn't love/obsess over it like I have with all my others. Might grow on me though, the green just looks black unless the lighting is perfect.
