Ceramic on Wg / Yg Daytona likely?

This is a question that has been discussed a bit recently. People have raised numerous points on both ends. I wanted to make a list analyzing the likelyhood of this change.

Points against likelihood:

1. The main point to consider is that Rolex recently changed the reference from 116528 to 116508 creating entirely new bezel text. Why would they do this if they were planning to go ceramic? Would it not make more sense just to slap some ceramic on there? This is the main thing that I can't make sense of.

2. Is it possible that a standard ceramic bezel would not look good with every dial variation? Perhaps we will see redesigned dials before ceramic?

Points for likelihood:

1. It seems that this is the direction that the Daytona , nay, Rolex sports models in general are going. Hard to argure with this fact.

2. Steel and rose gold already have ceramic. Is it just a matter of time?

Would you let this discourage you from buying a 116508 in its current non ceramic state?

Have a nice day,

Josh
