Glad you got that repaired! Probably a minor defect on the main spring which eventually just broke prematurely under stress (?). Nobody, not even Rolex, is perfect thus the reason for warranties. Enjoy your BLNR and hope that's the last of your problems. Cheers!

Happened to me before also. Wasn't under warranty so I took it to my local independent rolex wizard. Good as new. Mine was the same movement, but in a 16710.

That green pouch is great for storing your watch overnight. That’s what I use mine for.

Do we get more broken Movements today or is it because this forum is avail that we hear about it? Imagine being removed or at war and this happening. Would be a bummer to say the least. Are these watches more fragile now that Rolex knows you aren’t depending on it? It’s no problem if it stops working correctly today. My watch has always been consistent, but these repairs seem to happen often for others. Curious what the real watch guys with real experience think.

Lash L thats what I'm wondering. My son and wives Rolex broke before 5 years of owning them they were worn 24/7 Bullshit that they needed to be sent in warranty or not ! I think the 5 digit an older ref were more durable.
