DJ31 hot?
I ordered a pink dial fluted bezel on jubilee in Oct for my wife as a Christmas present. Expected it to come in right before the holiday and got in 3 weeks. Was kinda of surprised it was so quick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wait so the friggin bracelet is unworn!? Dude. Big Congrats man. That's the stuff of dreams. There's nothing quite like a fresh all brushed bracelet and the way the light stripes on it.

It's because people are using them to get to SS sport watches probably. Price of entry for a sub? DJ for the wife.

Haha i hope that dealer really believes that. Dj 31 had at a discount all day long. Forget the AD.

Of course. I think the mental math that the AD does to grant you a hot watch is along similar lines. $13k Daytona selling for $30k means you will need to buy enough watches or jewelry to generate $20k+ profit from them, else they back door it to "a VIP watch collector who spends $200K per year." When I heard that I said "you realize he's a grey dealer right!?"

Woah! You remember; yes I did. I eventually sold one and gave the other to my dad. So essentially, there was an "opening" for a black Sub, plain Jane that would fly under the radar.
Sometime down the road, I'll let this one have her pick :-) Quote:

In this part of the world too many heavy hitters. all the shelves are emptied. Recently one of my AD told me can help me request for a Sub (nd) if i buy a tudor and a cartier. I was like...... no wonder the statement of buying grey is cheaper than building a relationship.. |

If you're looking for any new DJ31, I'm happy to help, and I don't need to make a dollar, either. Feel free to PM me and I'll connect you with them. That said, others on this thread are correct: DJ31s can be had at a discount on the secondary market, even if they're unworn.

I've been looking for a steel DJ31 for my wife and a steel submariner date for myself. I have a couple of ADs that I'm staying in touch with, but have not been able to find with watch so far. The DJ31 for my wife shouldn't take too long to get. One AD has almost the same model I want for my wife, but with a different dial.

Buying from an AD is not impossible, at least in the U.S. where I am. Just a little patience and it works. At least in the U.S.
