115200 the 36mm Oyster Perpetual with date (same 3135 movement) is the best value. Complete in mint to near mint in low $3K for a modern Rolex cannot be beat. That is the biggest bang for the buck.
In the Rolex 40mm sport lineup the Explorer II.

Best value is buying a brand new Rolex.
Servicing a used Rolex, including replacement parts, increases the cost of buying used to just about brand new pricing. Quote:

Preowned solid gold take quite a beating off of msrp... And are tougher to sell because of the inherent higher prices--- some awesome deals can be found on them!!!

Don't listen to anybody saying Subs, Daytonas, SeaDwelllers - they haven't read your question.
TT and YG never do well used compared with SS. IMO, the Explorer II is a great watch and for some unknown reason doesn't hold it's value as well as other SS tool watches. That would be my choice for "best bang for buck" on the used market. |

anything below 40mm made by rolex seems to be pretty low resale wise. TT datejusts are the best buy IMO though because of the movement and they are pretty timeless.

Sub for me. I've been wearing mine for 2 years straight now, it can do everything and look good while it's doing it

+1 Dead On. The bad part is, my wrist is too large for a 36mm. :(

In my opinion, the best preowned bang for your buck Rolex is without a doubt, the SS/Platinum Yacht-Master. MSRP is about 11-12k, and a mint used one can be had for around 6k.
It's such a versatile, under the radar offering. It's platinum coloring does not clash with anything you're wearing, and it's dressy enough for a suit while still maintaining that casual, iconic Rolex sports watch look that goes perfect with jeans or a bathing suit. I can't say enough about the Yacht-Master. Some enthusiats over look it and write it off as a poser watch because "real Yachtsmen don't wear them" but whether or not that is true, the watch is stunning and that's all that really matters to me. |

I have seen Explorer II (40mm) in the high 3k range, or low 4k range. If you want a Sport model, that is the best bang for your buck.

I would say the YM is the best bang for the buck... what you can buy it for comparing to retail is almost 50% savings.

Subs are good because they are consistently popular and in demand.
