The problem is, if you send it to FDHSC you need to be careful to specify to leave the original handle intact. Otherwise they'll give you a service replacement handle which decimates the value.

This wouldn't have happened with the old, aluminium fridges...
I knocked a chip off a kitchen granite workbench with my old GMT-II C's bezel No damage to the watch

We all have small scratches on our appliances. It's part of the deal. These small nicks build character. You will hardly notice them in a while.
If you are so worried about scratching your appliances, leave them in the box. |

Good one - you had me there.
I thought this was going to be another of those dreaded "fragile ceramic bezel" threads |

No, but now he's going to ask if it's OK to swim with his fridge...

I have a "safe queen" fridge that I bring out only for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Still worries me with children in the kitchen, I just can't keep ahead of the fingerprints on the PCL's(polished center lettuce crisper).
All kidding aside, I was pretty worried having seen just the first picture.

Haha I wanted to send it to the FDHSC but I can't find my warranty card! Plus I'd be without a door handle for over a month! This is a terrible situation.
You didn't put a disclaimer that this watch would damage my appliances when I bought it from you a year ago! |

Don't mess with my or cut Gouges out of you...
You haven't looked at your watch in weeks? or you finally figured out where that white stuff finally came from?
Either way, that's a funny story and I want to get a ceramic bezel'ed Rolex again...lol!

You can replace a decent fridge for far less than a ceramic bezel replacement....

When I saw the 3rd picture, it became a very funny post! you could probably buy a couple of those fridges for the cost of that insert!

So do you guys think it's a good idea to get a NATO handle on my fridge and keep the original factory handle in a safe place so it won't get so scratched up by my mean old SD?

Does this mean porcelain is harder than ceramic since its notorious for shattering when dropped on bathroom floor tiles? |

I think those new fridge door handles look terrible they are too clunky, they should have left the old style door handle on it, the old handles transition much better with the door and they would not have scratched so bad, not to mention now the cost to replace this new shiny fridge handle!
