I did the same thing, except with the ceramic models. I couldn't be happier.

I loved not having to mess with the date at the begining of each month, but I'll get over it.

I am certainly happy that you found the timepiece that is right for you. But I have to say that I love my classic two line 14060m and plan to have it forever. To me it optimizes feature for function. That said, if I needed a date complication I would trade it in for a GMT.

I agree with your choice. All of my rolex watches are date models. I won't leave home without a date, cyclops and oyster bracelet...!

For me, it was not so much the date itself (honestly regardless if I'm wearing a Daytona or Sub, etc., there is an off chance of needing the date once max during the day) but more so bc I thought the 16610 date cyclops was more iconic.

Makes perfect sense to me. I refer to the date function at least 3 or 4 times a day. Can't live without it.
