Swam a few laps in the pool today at lunch. Instead of checking the pool clock like everyone else I had nice white dial watch with the orange obnoxious strap to time my workout ...!

It's my watch. I just wear it. And it's a lot safer on my wrist.

FWIW, I used to wear my Rolexes all the time for swimming; I swim long distances with many lots of laps. I can't begin to count them when I swim. I stopped wearing my Rolexes and started wearing a Garmin Swim instead. It seems to be much more suited for the purpose. Similarly I don't have to worry about damaging my Rolex while I'm swimming (which I've done).

I don't think anyone feels a "need" to wear it during workouts, it could be a luxury and passion they want with them every Rolex-second of the day.

When people ask me why I do some of things I do, I reply "because I can"

back on the 93150 band

It turns out for me that I prefer the look and comfort of 93150 bracelet on my Polar with the ghosted bezel. So the watch is back in regular rotation while I look for another exercise watch... I think I see an omega purchase in my near future...

Prefer the bracelet look as well. Love the "ghosted" bezel as well.

Three years later and the watch is no longer being worn as it wasn't as comfortable with the strap. Strange thread to revive. I wonder what the thumbs up are for, it going back on the bracelet and not being used or what?

What's up with people passing judgment here. I wear my Datejust all day, no matter what my activity. I never would have thought other Rolex owners would judge me for it.

Did you purchase it with the bezel paint off or did you have it removed?

I don't think anyone passed judgment in this (now 3 year old) thread

Sure, it's possible to wear a Rolex while working out, and people are free to do so if they want. But when Rolex markets a watch as a sport piece, they're referring to activities like golf, sailing, and racquet sports. It's a sport watch in the sense that a polo or a casual button-down is a sport shirt
