Can anybody vouch for a trusted dealer from the uk who advertises here on TRF, I am considering adding a GMT11c to my collection. I say collection but I only have a Sub Date at the mo :-)

I'd look for papers, reputable dealers/person, and examine the watch for classic fake tells - wrong date magnification, crown guards too fat, wrong font, ROLEXROLEXROLEX not properly lined up with minute markers (the "x" should land on every multiple of 5), crown too big

david i think "I no 4 sure cuz i buy from trusted sorse need 2 B careful in tha 2K08 br0" roughly translates to...

i am of the firm belief to only buy from a reliable source as an authorised dealers, as one can not be too careful these days.

lol

Harvey - thank you. I am not entirely familiar with the language used, which I believe may be some from of "txt."

Back on topic: Stick with AD's or one of the reputable grey dealers. Best choice for getting a good & safe deal would be to buy from another established TRF member. Knowing how everyone here appreciates a nice Rolex it's a safe bet the watch will have been well taken care of. Some great deals in the For Sale section.

Best advice around.

If you ignore the troll long enough, the troll will go away.

It's just a shame when daddy buys a business, nurtures it, builds it up with years of sweat, develops a reputation, and then passes it down to the spoiled child who still has not learned how to treat people. There are many people here that could buy the troll many times over.

Thanks for the encouraging post.

just like Steve said - I usually ask for them to take a pic of something very specific - like his suggestion of seeing the current time is a great one. I've also asked for the person to take a pic while holding their pinky up in the pic!! just SOMETHING to show me they are in possession of that watch
