I wish it had solid black subdials and I wish the bezel was thinner mimicking bakelite. We waited for a long time and all we got was a ceramic bezel. That's not very creative. I'm happy we have a nice option in SS and maybe it will grow on me. I think it's the best looking Daytona in the lineup.

I too wish Rolex had come out with a true Panda and a PN dial.
I know most would not approve, but it I were to go SS Daytona. I would go aftermarket dial and bezel. |

I personally LOVE it and am on a wait list. Yet even then there's one design element that slightly nags me but many or most find endearing. I give it a three run homer, not a grand slam. |

It is indeed a great new Daytona, one that many of us (including myself) have been speculating about and waiting for. And honestly, some didn't think would come. A panda dial would have been spectacular and would have sealed the deal for me. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a nice looking watch...I'm on a list at my AD for the white one! But I would need to see these in the flesh before making the purchase.

I have always admired the ceramic bezels on the PM Daytonas, so I'm not sure why this one feels so different on the white-dialed SS Daytona. It feels overpowering, sort of a clash of styles. The black one looks fantastic, though, I and I could see myself getting one in about 20 years.

There are some aftermarket PM dials from various dealers and on eBay. |

I would have loved to have seen the black version get full white sub dials, or at least white rings. But, all in all, I think it was a solid release

It is a beautiful watch,no denying that! The old Daytona wasn't for me,afraid the new version isn't either!

I realized what I don't love about the new version. The SS bezel model was all bling - pcls, polished case, light register surrounds, and shiny bezel. It made for a really dressy sport watch. The new model is much more sporty with the black bezel and surrounds, but it still has the vestigial bling of the case and pcls. It makes for a somewhat incongruent design imo. Had they gone back to a brushed case, the redesign would have ended up fully sporty - just like the zenith models that everyone loves.
The new model would make a great daily wearer, but I think I might like the current less versital model better. |

Am I the only one who doesn't LOVE the new ceramic Daytona? (Not Trolling)
I m sorry but it reminds me for a low end Seiko chrono ,ceramic works perfectly with the Platona but on these SS versions the contrast is just too strong for me.
At least one person shorter waiting list

Panda would have been special.
I like the new style as well and look forward to an opportunity to try it on.

I typically prefer something with color- i.e. the RG daytona with the ceramic bezel. BUT... I'm going to have to reserve judgement until I see one in person. I'm going to have to go against the grain here and and say I prefer the black dial better though.

This is a good point. It also looks very much like a Tag Chrono... I liked the non ceramic SS Daytona because it was the best looking "sporty dress watch" Rolex made IMO... Perfect if you didn't want to go the full sports/tool look of a sub or GMT etc.
