I would suggest the following:
1) Cellini Moonphase - looks awesome with dress shirt & polo shirt 2) ss SKY deweller - white, black or blue 3) SS daytona (very difficult to get)

Based on versatility with dress/casual, the DJ41. I just got one yesterday and also have a six-digit Sub No Date. The Sub is the most versatile in terms of where I'd take it, but the DJ41 is the one that I think I'll be able to pair with the widest variety of outfits/styles. |

The 39mm full-lume Explorer is wonderful. I rotate a Submariner, a Datejust with WG fluted bezel, and the 39mm Explorer. The Explorer is my favourite. It's a stealth Rolex (no cyclops). Goes perfectly with a suit or jeans. Easy to read at a glance. Easy to read at night (lume is much better than my Submariner).

Thanks for the votes! I like the idea of the DJ41, or perhaps the Daytona. I will try and find one to try on, and check the pre-owned forum to see if anything matches. An Explorer II would be fun, but more of a weekend watch I think, which is what I already have

I vote polar explorer, it is one of your choices, albeit the complete opposite of dressy.

You can wear any watch with a suit, but a Sub+suit just makes the wearer look like a sad James Bond fantasist.
In the Rolex Oyster line, DJ or DD both look great (the ultimate being a platinum DD) otherwise Cellini/another brand. |

Of the watches you list, my preferences would be the pre-owned Daytona first, and the DJ 41 second.
In addition to the watches you list, I would consider a Submariner, a Submariner Date, and an Explorer I. Happy hunting! |

If you want to get back in to the Rolex game, start off with a SubC.

I would go with the Submariner-C ND, 114060. Great watch and a clean dial and a lot of history. It can be dressed up or down and holds it value well.

My $0.02 would be to select the Yacht-Master. It offers a good blend of sport/dress, very robust, and somewhat rare in the wild.

Looking for a dressy, versatile Rolex and need suggestions
I’d say DJ41 for sure —- if you really wanted a professional model I’d go 520 Daytona (white dial) - it has the ‘dressy’ aspect where the 500 does not (IMHO).
No one can predict how any of these watches (or anything else for that matter)will be valued in the future. Buy what YOU like - and don’t get caught up in all of the hype, trust me. Good luck!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

DJ41 is the dressiest option, IMHO.

Well, the msrp on the SS versions in $14,400 with fair likelihood one can find one in white through an AD at that price. Model is 326934.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to try some watches on with my wife next weekend. She is buying, so I will leave it up to her, and report back! |

I got two Datejust's as every day beaters and they go near anything I am doing. So they work great as an everyday watch. I would go for a DJ 41 with a blue arabic dial and fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet if I where you. The jubilee bracelet shows the scratches much less then the oyster.
