I'm sure there is a market if they can insure and have large enough deposits.

People rent jewellery for award shows etc. But normally more high end than these models. So why not.

The obvious answer is no. Another answer would be why? I don't have the kind of money that would allow me to pay for something that wasn't mine, effectively giving my money away. I can only afford what I own.

This is exactly right. This is for generation fake, where you don't have to earn it, you just have to fake it long enough to get a picture.

I wouldn't rent as I buy watches new and keep them but I can see there being a market for such watches. People rent cars and change them every two or three years so why not watches.

I was going to say that.
Both ideas however make no sense to me but if replicas business is thriving is because not everyone think as I think :-(

I would hope they have an experienced watchmaker on staff, otherwise half their watches will return with superfake movements or other "new" bits. . .

I’ll be that guy and say yes ...

I’d have to see how the math works out, but with an option to buy I see this as a way to try out models that I’d be interested in purchasing without committing to buy.

I can see it being beneficial especially with PM references again, provided the overall cost isn’t too much to “rent”.

I think renting to try it out seems like a good idea!

Before a knee jerk no reaction, I think it would depend on cost and if there's a 'wait list'?

Tongue in cheek, if I could rent a Daytona for $50 per month with no wait, why not?

More seriously, if it allowed me to try on a watch for a month, even if it cost me $500 a month, I'd rather do that then have to pick watches sight unseen allowing me to go through all the hot watches and PM watches to really know how much I like everything. To that note, I'm incredibly grateful for amazing friends who will let me borrow their watches lightly for a few weeks at a time to help me decide what gets added next to the collection.

I wouldn’t do it. But I think it might help undecided people, they could rent and wear the watch they intend to buy to see if they really like it.

I would not, but it certainly beats spending $10,000 on a watch that you quickly determine does not work for you.

My answer is 'no way'.
However I will say that borrowing a friend's new sub for a week really helped me figure out and clarify a few issues.

Yup.

Now renting it to pretend it’s yours, that’s a different story lol

Good idea as judged by the many posts regarding buyer's remorse like the watch is too big, or the watch is too small, or I prefer the other bezel, or I can't see the dials, or I can't bond with the watch, or the lugs are too wide, or the color is too boring, or it's too blingy, or it's uncomfortable, or is this watch the best investment, etc...

The cost is probably cheaper to rent over interest and principal on a credit card for one but the primary difference is an owner has the title and can dispose of the property anytime at will, whereas, renting leaves the title in the owner lessor and the watch can only be returned to them or disposed of at their direction. No upside to renting unless the rent is crazy cheap which I doubt it is on jewelry.
