Brilliant looking watch congrats.

If I didn't own the 017 I'd have this on my wrist right now.
That new style retro strap looks like a great match for the watch.

Mainly it was due to overlap since the two look and wear so similarly. After a month of owning both I found myself always gravitating towards the SLA037.

The SLA017 is slightly darker but you probably wouldn’t notice unless they’re side-by-side. Even then it isn’t easy to spot. I suspect the Diashield coating on the 017 is what makes the difference. The SLA037 is the same color as a 904L Rolex, likely due to a higher nickel content.

Any idea if the bracelet from the 017 will fit on the 037? I’m a huge bracelet guy and it’s the only thing keeping me from buying the 037. Then there would be the difficult task of trying to talk a 017 owner into selling their bracelet....

Yes, an 017 bracelet will fit the 037. Case and lug geometry are the same. The only difference I can find is the caseback thickness.

You might try calling Seiko service in NJ to ask if they’ll sell you a bracelet separately. Or, find an AD in NM and see if they can source one for you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I’ll contact a few AD’s and see if any can source the bracelet for me.
