I’m thinking of doing it for a PM Daytona myself.

I’d keep the ceramic. Get an oysterflex for it. And go for the other down the road

I have both. If one has to go, it will be the 500.

Just an update contrary to what i posted i decided to sell the 116500 to get the 116519 the dia is simply beautiful and the wg when beside the ss they might look the same on paper but the wg stands out even compared to so called oystersteel.

Here's my dilemma though, i got it at standard size ee and ef. Dealer suggesting to change one side to size d. My wrist is about 6.4". Problem is no stock of the size d oysterflex have to wait for months! I have no idea why they won't keep these in stock when they are slowly integrating oysterflez to professional models.

At current size, i have to close the microadjustment easy link and place at very last (tightest) hole of the clasp. It's not snug it moves but not so much. Ad suggesting needs to be super snug. Can anyone share their take on this? I attached photos of the watch to give a better picture

My wrist is 6.3 maybe a generous 6.4 but not 6.5.

No way. The 116500 is a more elusive/interesting watch hype or not. I think it will only go up like the old SS models. I don’t think the 116519 will do that since it’s PM. Also, based on my calculations, would need to add 8-10k. Also gold is a bit softer so I prefer SS since its my daily driver.

Now with that said the 116519 is my second choice and I hope to add it someday. It’s a great watch. Id say my grail piece and first pm if I can ever afford it. It scratches my itch for the platona at half the price. I’d wear the 116500 most of the time and the 116519 on weekends special occasions etc.

Interesting, I have both and wear the 519 all week and the 500 on the weekends. To the OP, I do wear the OF more snug than the 500, just enough that the head stays put. I don't leave marks in my wrist

I really like the white gold oysterflex, but at the same time, having a hard time letting go of my SS Ceramic

Thanks!
The 116500 will probably hold its value better than the 116519 if that is a factor you care about

Good thread. I'm contemplating the switch. Sell my 116500 White dial and getting the WG 116519 OF.....tough decision. Im leaning towards doing it.....that dial is amazing.

Rolex has just started selling leather straps that the AD can order. These will fit the PM models. Just ask your AD to check the ordering system.

It means you can have rubber/leather oem.

I’ve tried the 519 and had my 500 at the side of it just a couple of days ago.

I would make that trade, the PM watch is unbelievable in the flash.

It is heavy though and there is no way I would want it on the full PM bracelet as it would be too heavy.

Hello guys, I'm new in this forum and I've been reading a lot of posts just to find the answer I'm looking for..
I recently bought a Rolex for almost double the price .. 21k usd for a 116500 white face.. in HK.
Well, since I'm a newbie I still find hard to understand what determinate the price oscillation in a watch. For example, I'm tryng to understand if there are high possibilities that my watch paid 20+k will drop again to 12k soon.
Im just tryng to understand if it's better for me to sell it now for 20k or keep it... do u think the price will never drop ? I just want to hear some expert opinion :-)

No the price of your watch will increase indefinitely, you’re essentially holding an ETF that is guaranteed to net you 13% compound interest every year in perpetuity. It would gain even more value (150% - 1000% gain) if you can get some celebrity to wear it with photo and video proof!

How many hedge fund managers out there could guarantee you that sort of return?

I am of the view that the steel watch is a bit more versatile and more scratch resistant. Also, you have the option of fitting the oysterflex strap w/endlinks which is nice. On the oysterflex the watch is super light which enhances the concept of a lightweight comfortably wearing ribber strap watch IMHO. Also, personally I like the case design of the steel watch slightly better..more thin ligs from the profile view.

The silver dial is definitely really nice on the WG watch..so probably can't go wrong...

Both are amazing. However, the WG is beautiful and one of a kind in my opinion. Do it. I went ahead and did it.

I would try to get the 116509 than the 116519 if you can keep the 116500.

Somehow the OF bracelet doesn’t do it for me, and I would like the PM bracelet. The blue 116509 os pretty amazing.

get the 116519LN. you will not miss the 116500. the dial on 116519 is just so much better than the SS version.

Would exchange 1: 1 for a little used 116519LN, without any payment.

I have had the wg oysterflex for over a year and love it. Really versatile watch which can be dressed up or down. Just had a call today from my AD to say my white ss is imminent after a 2 year wait and I’m really excited. I think both watches will compliment each other and can’t see myself parting with either. I’m sure the WG will get more wrist time though as it flies more under the radar.
