One of my favorite references and I have a 116500,a BLNR, and a BLRO. I will own a 126655 someday for sure. Love it!

Not a fan of the Yacht-Master in general and of the Oysterflex.

An interesting read ... oysterflex isn’t just a “rubber strap”. |

Haha, That’s hilarious but also terrifying! I used to fly on a medical helicopter as a physician We always had fantastic pilots! I don’t think I would strap in to an aircraft with pilots like you are describing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Love the look of the watch but for a PM head on a rubber band = Hard Pass for the price!

I'd love one of these to replace my 16610 Sub.....as a skin condition means that I can now only wear fabric or rubber straps on watches, and now with the glidelock on these it pretty much fits all the criteria I want of a daily wearer......other than the price, and getting hold of one in the UK.

The glidelock is not necessary in the least. Its an expensive upgrade that people want it more.
While the glidelock is useful on the other references as its necessary for some sort of relief for wrist swell adjustments, the OF doesnt have the rigid limitations of the SS models etc. Once properly fitted to your wrist, and a little bit of time on your wrist to "break in" the OF its as comfortable as the day is long. The difference is the "wings" on the underside. They have flex to them for those swell days, and as stated they soften up with wear.

Bought mine from AD and love it. It's a stunning piece in person. However, buying gray market makes sense as it trades below msrp.

Excuse me for my English, I am French.
I just bought this new watch because I did not find a second-hand cheaper than in a store. It is superb, its presence on the wrist is remarkable. For 24,000 euros I do not find that it is very expensive compared to a Daytona 116519LN. I have one. It is beautiful but not very readable for my aging eyes. I'm starting to prefer YM. Have a good day; |

I just think for the price many people prefer something else. Alot of options when we are talking $25k or thereabouts.
I know if I was going to spend that much I'd rather add another $5k and get a DD40, 116618LB or a full gold Daytona. |

Being Scottish, Aus$38460 on a rubber strap (even a strap reinforced with onobtanium) answers the question for me.

The overall aesthetic works for me. But that's only in pictures.
In excess of £20K for an uncomplicated tool watch on a rubber strap? Not a chance. Regardless of how Rolex market their patented elastomer, it's a rubber strap. |

I agree, one on the nicest looking watches that Rolex makes, but a big decision $$ wise for this punter.

I think that apart from price, another reason might be the fact that pink "coppery" gold is not for everyone. As full gold goes, people tend to prefer yellow gold and white gold. Another reason is the idea of a rubber looking strap (although it's a bracelet) on a gold piece. Finally, the black matte ceramic bezel makes it look more utilitarian than it should, considering this is the Sub deluxe. It's a peculiar mix.

YMs are not as popular as Sub/Gmts and straps on Rolexes are not nearly as preferred as bracelets. Was always a niche play.

When I bought one for my wife I was very reluctant for the same reasons many have posted. I just didn't feel the look of the watch in the case was worth the asking price. The OF band was maybe a big part of the reason.
But after a very nice discount from our fantastic AD I made the purchase and I have to say I think the watch on the wrist is as good looking as it gets. I still don't think the watch is worth the asking list price but its a great looking watch. Sporty due to the OF yet elegant due to the gold case and buckle. You can't judge it from pictures or looking at it in a window or showcase. It has to be worn on the wrist to be appreciated. |

Agreed. Beautiful piece but price point makes it hard. At that price, there are other pieces i would rather spend my money on. I guess, you really need to love the piece to spend that kind of money.

Phil Mickelson wears it while actually competing. Is any other Rolex ambassador wearing any other sports watch while actually competing professionally in a sport? The movement can apparently withstand him HITTING BOMBS which is very impressive.

One of my favorite Rolex watches bar none but I have never been able to justify the price. Looks great, but not 28K + with tax great. At that figure you are into AP ROC, FPJ CS (well, you used to be), and others territory. I'd be an owner already if this watch was 21K instead of almost 30.

This is in my top 3 favorite Rolex's and I wish we saw more on here. No offense to anyone, but my goodness there is nothing more boring than another Daytona/GMT/Sub thread.

A pimped-up, bold, in-your-face Sub. No thanks .

Anyone have this and had other strap or bracelets put on? Love the piece but would want something more versatile for the price

For the headache I went though during the initial sizing, I wouldn’t recommend swapping between straps on Oysterflex models. Too much room for damage to occur.
