Any reason why this watch isn’t more popular? hardly any incomings.
Reason I’m asking is because I saw one in the wild today at a 4th of July outing and it was stunning!

This was a recent topic I think. The general feeling was its price. For that kind of money, there are other 'popular' options such as Daytona on oysterflex. It's a beautiful piece but if I had that kind of cash to spend on a watch, I might go further for a Day-date 36 or something.

Didn’t realize the price point was on par with the OF Daytona. |

I have one and absolutely love it. It was my first PM timepiece. It’s still at the RSC, but will follow up on that in a separate thread.

That piece can be had for under 20k. Show me an of daytona for that price please. The reason is correct. Other watches have more pedigree in the rolex lineup for 20k or less.

If I want to spend close to 30K for a watch, I would rather spend a little more and get the whole PM case and bracelet.

Yachtmaster everose 40mm is a beautiful piece, but has no hype to push up it's price. Definitely a piece to buy on the secondary market and not at retail. If you can get some hype started for this piece then prices will go up and others will be talking about it.

It is gorgeous of course. But a solid gold watch on a rubber strap is difficult to wear well. Not as versatile as a full PM piece.
Also, I think the renders look much more pink than real life, so maybe that puts people off. |

Price definitely turned me away from it when I first saw it. Beautiful watch, but you can have some other awesome watches for similar money. Upper teens to low twenties should be MSRP if they wanted them to move quickly.

It's a beauty. I got my wife the 40mm for our 20th anniversary.

It’s a tool watch with no special complications and an older 3135 caliber. Other Rolexes can do the job just as well. CHNR, anyone? Everose GMT II?

Beautiful but expensive - people like it but not all can afford it.

Agree low 20’s and I would bite. Near 30k is overpriced for a watch with a rubber strap.

They’re easy to find around 20k and it’s one of the best watches I’ve ever owned, always amazes me they’re not more popular.

Most people buy for the brand name. So why spend more when you can get a DateJust. And thus you get to brag that you now 'own a Rolex.

This is one of my favourites. I think it’s a perfect summer watch. Everything else is so hyped up, some of the other references get missed.
It’s not in my price bracket at the moment, but is one of my goals for the future. |

I love that watch.
Price is an issue for me. I’m an under $10,000 per watch kind of a guy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love mine and prefer it over the OF Daytona, to be honest.

Simply because of less internet hype and less hype on so called social media, now if it was hyped this is the greatest Rolex since sliced bread. Then it could be the must have much like the over hyped Daytona.

Price vs value retention .
One to buy pre-owned . Beautiful reference ,have seen it a couple of times in the metal . Saw a 40mm with colourded stone bezel and pave diamond dial ..stunning for a lady ! |

I would have one right now if I didn't already have an OF in my collection. Oh well, maybe someday...

I think it comes down to price. That is a really nice looking watch but it is one of the worst values in the catalogue. No bracelet, small amount of precious metal, and it costs $27k retail.
It's a watch that someone who is actually wealthy would wear; it's not a steel sports watch and depreciates quite a bit out the door. |

Market price for these watches pre-owned is very different.

I would be very surprised if this were a popular model. Rolex has no advantage in this price range in general, the design didn't help either

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these at an AD, but then got offered the rose gold Daytona. For 2kish difference, the Daytona seemed like the better choice.
