The fins help get some air circulation between the wrist and strap. That is the primary reason why I requested this piece, due to frequent travels at beach destinations. Make sure it is sized correctly - I had some issues at first with it being too loose in an air conditioned room...but once I headed out and was a bit active, my wrist swells and it is a perfect fit with slight indentations from the fins on my skin. Absolutely LOVE this piece.

I personally do not, but I see the appeal to segments of the modern luxury market that highly values go anywhere, anytime versatility, along with great style and exclusivity over the more traditional staid opulence of full gold. Let's Goooo!

I wouldn't complain if I had that piece that's for sure... I am a little skeptical about it not having a bracelet. May hold up and be more rugged so it's got that going for it at least.

This Rolex watch main source of value lies in it's restricted supply and increasing demand. Since I can not estimate the supply and I can not estimate the demand, I therefore, can not say that it is either overvalued or undervalued. I am sure this post helps very little, but that's my .02 on the matter.

Is this watch worth $46k?

Getting sized correctly for the oyster flex is essential. Too tight and it leaves significant indentations and can be uncomfortable - though that is what easylink is for. Take into account where your wrist is at (eg. Hot or cold) when sizing. Personally, grey pricing is a little silly. But then people pay more for a steel nautilus. Or look at the Tiffany dials. I’d take an oysterflex Daytona any day . Though I prefer the WG version. Whether it’s worth 49k is up to you. At retail it’s an easy buy. The oysterflex is very comfortable. I bought this watch at MSRP (33 K$CAD) after an 8 months wait at my AD. This watch is incredible. Just the perfect balance of colors and textures. Rolex YG is sublime. I definitely prefer black ceramic bezel over full gold bezel for the visual aspect. OF is great. Visually and functionally. Its mate aspect matches well the mate black dial. Gold color of subdials adds a nice contrast to the black dial and improve readability.
I know many people prefer full gold bracelet but for me it’s 10 K$ of pure jewelry. 10K$ for 10 gold links… That being said and even if I really like this watch, I wouldn’t pay over MSRP… Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Just wait it out... check in every couple of weeks/months. Remind them you have a special occasion coming up (or a milestone)... Just wait it out. I waited 2 years for my steel daytona, 2 years for my pepsi... In the mean time enjoy your other time pieces and use the money you would have spent on it to make more money.

Such an amazing shot! I agree with your points about full PM. If it had a ceramic bezel it would be a tough choice.

Daytona OF is beautiful watch. I'd love to have one in my collection, but honestly if I had the money I would just save up a few more grand and get a full PM bracelet. Assuming you can get either at an AD of course... I wouldn't pay grey prices for an OF.. I would struggle justifying that even at MSRP if we're being honest...
