need help in decison

I have posted in the past about this topic and I am not confident enough to make my decision, so please bare with me. For those of you who are not aware of my previous post my 275 second hand was not reseting properly and now after sitting in the box the power reserve stopped at 2 days. There was a previous post about this where it was stated that it could be corrected by winding beyond the 8 day mark. Anyone know where this was posted? Tomorrow I am to choose between the 289 and the 277; and I will choose so please no comments like "perhaps a panny is not for you." Could you please enlighten me and help me in my decision? They both have the resetting second hand and the 8 day power reserve functions. I am at a loss. I just don't know if my faulty pam was a fluke or these problems have not been ironed out yet. Thanks

someone's prv post

I've had a 233 (J series, purchased new from an AD) for about 9 months. This morning I noticed some strange behavior and am wondering whether any others have experienced the same. The power reserve had run down completely. After winding a few turns to start the second hand again I tried to reset the time. Two problems occurred:

1. After setting the time, when I pushed the crown back in all the way, the second hand did not start. I could still wind the watch and see the power reserve go up, but the watch hands were frozen. I pulled the crown back out and pushed it in again and the second hand started.

2. But then I tried pulling out the crown all the way again, and the second zeroing/reset did not work and the second hand stayed frozen where it was.

Pushing in and pulling out the crown several times more, I could not replicate these problems, but I'm worried a gear might have slipped internally or something and whether this will be a recurring problem.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Also, if I need to send this in for repair, can I go to any Panerai AD or must it be the one I bought the watch from (which is out of state)?

Thanks for your input.
