Rolex Laser Etched Crown Hologram (Start Date)
Dear TRF
Please could you let me know the year/date when Rolex introduced the “Rolex Laser Etched Crown Hologram” on the crystal normally at the 6 o’clock. I am purchasing a Submariner Reference 16610 (2009 model) and the laser etched crown hologram does not appear on the dial, I have used a loupe under all different lighting and still could not find it. I did not have a problem on the later models. Could you let me know if this is normal for that particular model? Thank you very much. |

it should be there or the crystal was replaced with an aftermarket crystal.

Perhaps check not at the 6 o'clock position, but at other circumference of the crystal. If you find the etched crown for example at 4'oclock , it has most likely been tampered with by a watch hobbyiest or an independent who did not place the crystal back in the correct 6'oclock position.

It could be an OEM genuine Rolex crystal from an earlier year.
