After Explorer 1.. next purchase

I have a Exp 1, current model
Have always desired lange, patek, a DD, Sub, pelagos, etc.
have tried on all of them, all are great ,but hard to replace Exp1 on the wrist as it can be worn from the gym to the boardroom.. Is this the nature of the Exp1

It really is. It's the most versatile watch Rolex makes.

I'd still look hard at the JLC ultra thin Moonphase for dress occasions.

Why replace ? Just add !
It's called collecting , a disease that is rampant among members here

I have an Explorer 1 and while it's just about perfect ... my Pelagos blue is a nice compliment .

A lot of these today huh? In your case OP, I would sit on it for a few months and enjoy your explorer for now. See if you still feel like “replacing” the watch then. By that time you should have more funds to spend on another watch instead of replacing...

I'd like to think so, OP, but after getting the Exp2, it seems like a never-ending honeymoon with the Exp2 ;)

But 214270 is truly an ideal daily beater (not that I abuse it) - well sized, comfy, and understated.

I understand your sentiment, and it is a versatile model, but if we are being honest an Explorer is not great for the gym or the boardroom. Somewhere in between maybe...

As stated this is a disease, and there is no known cure, the moment that you think that you have acquired that last grail watch and you collection is complete, those horrible, nasty elves in Switzerland go and release another watch, a watch that you just have to have. And so the process starts again.

Great watch very versatile but maybe a dress watch for smarter occasions
