Update: I've called RSC Sydney today and told the lady my situation. Soon as I mentioned that I've sent in the watch before, she's asked me for the serial number and put me straight onto the watchmaker.
I said that my watch got returned without being looked at as it does not have a flyback function but in fact it does. I asked if he has a copy of the Yacht Master II instruction manual and I referred him to page 18 of the manual. We were finally on the same page as to what the problem was. He told me the reason that the watch got returned was due to the AD's description on the repair receipt stated "chronograph flyback not continue to run" which caused a confusion with the 4130 movement that does not have a flyback feature. He said that my watch is actually a regatta timer which uses 4161 movement and has both flyback and fly forward feature. He said since the reset button no longer function and the model is relatively new, he might need to order some parts which might take longer then the 2 weeks guarantee on warranty jobs by Rolex. He said he'll do a full service + replace all necessary parts under warranty. I then told him about my location problem, he put me back onto the lady and advised that I can ship them the watch via Australia post or Star Trek if I feel comfortable to do so but they place no responsibility until the package gets delivered into their office. I asked if I need to specifically asked for him and he said no as the serial number will have previous repair records in the system and the watch will go straight back to him. I've asked him if I can get the same AD to send it off and he said yes since he now understand the problem. I think I might still get the AD to send it off with a letter of mine with a list of all the problems. I didn't feel comfortable with Star Trek or Australia Post with my current luck. |
