Its for old and young people I believe. They never nail what strain it is going to help against. The influenza virus mutates all the time so guessing the right strain is very hard. Like many have said it doesn’t do much but get people sick. I would go into detail as I am big into CDC but unfortunately time isn’t on my side at the moment. I recommend not getting it.

Quad vax at work every year. Mandatory for all hands. Wife gets one for free through insurance. NBD, doesn't cause autism, I won't get sick. I don't think much of it. We joke that it's a software update for the government's tracking chip.

I work in a hospital & they require it for every employee. If you choose not to get it you have to wear a mask for the 8 hours that you work till flu season is over.

It's awesome that they give you that option instead of firing you. Its a reasonable compromise.

All unvaccinated
A few years ago we had an ICU full of patients on ECHMO due to the flu.

I've had the flu 3 times in my life, the first being in high school. I don't wish this illness on my worst enemy. The fever, chills and body aches will debilitate you for days.

It might be a coincidence but I've never contracted the flu after a vaccination so I get it every year now.

Used to get the flu every year like clockwork in late October to early November. Started getting flu shots in 1998 and haven't had the flu since.

I’m glad to hear you’ve been flu free for a good number of years. I wish everyone good health. Personally, I’ve never had a flu shot nor the flu.

Anytime you inject the same thing into millions (maybe billions?) of people you're bound to see some adverse events. And arsenic isn't that bad. We infuse it right into the vein to treat leukemia.

Regarding the comment above about an ICU full of people on ECMO due to influenza, how exactly did that happen? Unless your definition of ECMO is different than mine.

I get one annually. No idea if it is effective. We do them for free at work--healthcare facility. We encourage but do not require staff to get them.

Me too Mark, could all be placebo mentality, but it is free and easy so why not?

Every year as a physician. Remember you’re doing it for yourself but also for others who may come into contact with you. Herd immunity

I get one every year. My yearly check-up happens to be at the start of the flu season, and my insurance covers it. Already in the doctors office and free flu shot, it's a easy yes for me.

I dunno. I trust my doctor and scientific studies more than I trust hearsay. 20+ years of annual flu shots, and I will continue to get the shot.

No question I mainly get it because I am coming into contact with my son, my friends infants, the elderly relatives etc. People get too worked up. Doctors are not out to get you.

Agree. We have to protect those around us. Just get it, and you'll have a little piece of mind and protect those around you. .:)
