Soon to be Incoming Submariner ...

Really wanted a Submariner 2-Liner with “honest elements” to wear and put through the paces ... exclusively on NATO (I already have a random serial 4-Liner and a SubC Date, as well).

In any event, found this gem through a Trusted Seller here and just wanted to get thoughts from you guys on whether this fits the bill (as I think it does).

Seller disclosed that watch has been high polished, and I think they did a nice job.

I’ll be sure to post on-wrist pics in due time.

The 5 digit sub is a great choice for the N. strap. However, not sure about the banged bezel teamed with the highly polished case .. It would make sense if the case is still untouched, but now seems like a mismatch ..

I meant ‘high polished’ in the technique, a la RSC level. Yes, the case has been polished, but I am going to put a million dings and scratches onto it anyways, so not a concern. This will be exclusively worn on NATO.

Yes. That factored into price point. Wasn’t looking for the “Gold Standard” 14060 (nor willing to pay for one)!

I think it looks great. It looks worn just enough that you can use it as a daily without babying it. The patina with the WGS is a really good look. I agree with the thought that these might be the next ones to start becoming hot.

Yes, it's a good reference choice as a daily beater overall. I have spent some time looking for a decent example of 14060 Tritium, but couldn't find one to be honest. It was always something with those- Either wrong hands, or changed dial-bezel, cracked pearl, or overpolished case, leveled clasp crown, stretched bracelet.. As time went by so was the price. At one point I just thought It's not worth the purchase anymore as the price difference between the decent example of 14060 and brand new 114060 was almost non existent here in EU, or not worth it for me anyway. So, I am on the list for a brand new 114060 that I will be using since day 1 and making my own marks and memories and NEVER let it polish. Thought in the beginning that the Maxi 114060 case is too much for me, but I actually started liking the presence of the 114060 after I have tried one on.

Yes, fantastic choice on the 114060. I’ve stated earlier that the SubC and SubC Date are killers on wrist, even though they may look boxy off. I was fortunate enough to get my 14060M COSC and SubC Date through ADs, so they remain unpolished and in great shape. If I could have only one, it’d be the SubC (Date) that I have.

I love the aesthetic of Submariners in every iteration, so had to get a 2-liner, but did not want to break the bank and let a perfect (and pricy) example be the enemy of a good one that adds another element of variety into the collection as a daily-wearer.

It was surprising how hard it was to find a 2-liner in the condition/price point I was looking for. Prices have definitely gone up on these, as a Classified search even back 6-12 months shows the trend line.

Have a spare insert in the watchbox if you need one.

I like the look of everything but the mismatching hands and hour markers.

Got what I thought was a very fair price for this head only example. Arrived today and immediately put it on a ToxicNATOs strap. Here it is in the metal!

I’m smitten.

This is common on E and X serial. Around 1991. I don't know what serial is this one but hands can be original.

Congrats! Love the 14060 on a strap- here’s my Y serial on a Haveston from windup shop- it’s become my favorite nato-like strap.

Yeah, I did notice that on E and X serial numbers. Although mine has a newer bezel insert, so OP’s example is much better. Both dial markers and hands on my E serial no longer glows. Dial markers have patina while the hands are usually lighter but would show some patina in certain lighting conditions. Wondering if it’s a batch issue and if unique to E’s and X’s.
