First Rolex!

Received the call yesterday from my local AD asking if I can come in today. Was not disappointed!

I had been deciding between the SubC with a date, BLNR, or a Pepsi for some time. After seeing all of these and trying them in person I knew the Sub was the one. I have been wanting a two watch collection for some time and the sub was the most versatile. The Pepsi and BLNR while beautiful were too much for me as it stands out with the bezel and jubilee. I do travel for work between different time zones but using the dive bezel to track a second time zone works for me and provides a cleaner bezel and dial. Couldn’t be happier with my decision.

For those wondering about the wait I seriously started hunting for the watch about 2-3 Months ago and put my name on several list. For the GMTs I was told it’d I would have waited about another year (consistent response between 9 ADs I visit regularly).

Would like to say thanks to everyone who post here as this was my greatest source of information by far!

(I’ll post a pic once I hit 10 post)

Congrats...classic pick and a great watch to be just one or build your collection around. Very surprised you were able to try on all three and choose. I would have been tempted to buy Pepsi or BLNR and trade with major seller and get cash back making Sub that much cheaper. No a cool thing to do, but could have maybe made $1-2k.

Congrats on the pickup, and welcome to the club. Just out of curiosity, what's the other watch the Sub is joining?

To clarify I did not have the change to buy the Pepsi or BLNR, but I did get to try all three on and look them over pretty good (actually saw the Pepsi and BLNR on two separate occasions). The order had in my mind initially was the BLNR > SubC > Pepsi. After comparing the three I came to the conclusion I was chasing the hype of the GMT's and felt the SubC would be a better long term choice. I intend to pass this down when I have a son.

The Sub is joining a Hamilton dress watch I purchased to wear on my wedding day. I love the history of Hamilton, but none of their tool watches really spoke to me. The sub is replacing my Seiko Sumo that has been a great watch and will still serve time on the wrist for some task.

Thanks for the congrats!
