All Seiko Prospex models have specks of dust on dial?
Hello guys.
I have recently purchased Seiko Prospex Samurai (SEPD23) but I found specks dust on the dial. They are absolutely visible under bright lights. I bought the watch online so I was able to return the watch to the seller because it is a manufacturer defect. I received another one as an exchange but it also has specks of dust on dial but different spot. This is unhappy because I had Seiko sumo but the watch also had specks of dust under the crystal and had a nick on the inner bezel. I expect Seiko QC quality is not good at all due to the watches are assembled in factories out of Japan? If you guys have any Prospex models, do your watch have the same issue as I have? |

Never had it
Must have at least 20 Seikos. Made all over the place.

I have three Seiko divers, none of them have dust on the dial or underside of the crystal. However, two of them do have the notorious misaligned chapter rings.

I once got a Seiko Blue Lagoon Turtle with a speck of dust on the dial which I only noticed after owning the watch for one week. It bothers me a lot so I took it back to the shop which I bought it from and the shop owner was kind enough to exchange it for a new one which has a perfect dial. I was so happy I bought another Seiko from him.

I've got a handful of Seikos, never had the problem. The second Rolex I bought, worth more than all of the aforementioned Seikos combined, had to be sent to RSC to remove a foreign body from under the crystal after 2 months of ownership. Luck of the draw, methinks.

Ive got over a dozen seiko divers, only ever had dust once, it looked like a tiny chip/speck of lume.
I took the watch to the seiko boutique and the dust was removed in about 10 minutes for free. Sorry to hear youve got dust, are you inspecting your watches with a loupe? is this all visible to the naked eye? |

No issues with dust here but I have stopped buying online, for the most part. My AD is an Authorized Seiko/Grand Seiko dealer and I get most of my Seiko's through him. I inspect them in the store and have not had an issue. Slightly more expensive but no issues with warranties or any other QC situations with the watches.
