I had the 3 of them sitting on a tray the day I got my first Rolex, “ last week :-))”
For a non watch collector like myself the only factor that made me stare away from the SD43 was the blue dial on the James Cameron model. But then the thickness of the watch and the proportions of the dial compared to the case “it makes the dial look smaller” made me look back at the stylish and perfectly proportioned SD43. The Deep Sea black dial had no chance between the two. |

I own them both as well and have the same internal debate constantly! I have to say while the sd43 is most logical to be the first choice from a practical standpoint in terms of weight/height, there is something about the whole package of the DSSD that the sd43 cannot match. The depth of the dial, the slightly smaller diameter of the dial (a positive to me), the domed crystal, the lack of magnifier, and flatter case back. These things just set it apart from any other Rolex.

Since it isn't the JC, I would do it. I prefer the size and fit of the SD43.
