Is Lux Bond and Green getting out of Rolex?

Heard through the rumor mill that Lux Bond and Green might be getting out of Rolex on account of the new Boston Rolex boutique (run by Long's) slated to open next year. Has anyone else heard something similar? If this is true, I'm a bit bummed, as I really like the folks at Lux Bond and Green.

Was just there last week trying to bundle a jewelry purchase with a SS model but was given the old maybe next year speech. For whatever that is worth.

I wouldn’t be surprised. Tourneau in Copley also just picked up Rolex last year. That would be 4 ADs within a few blocks of each other once Long’s opens up.

Sidney Thomas in the Pru could also lose the brand.

Possibly in the Boston area but they have other stores in CT. They have always been good to me... got some hard to get pieces but also got engagement ring, wedding rings, earnings, necklace... the list goes on

I don’t believe LBG is getting out of Rolex anytime soon

Oh, man. That's got to be really splitting the supply lines for the area. I wouldn't surprised if you started seeing fewer watches in the cases soon.

Of all the ADs in Boston, I would be least sad about Sidney Thomas losing its AD status. Most of the sales guys know next to nothing about the products they're selling, and come off worse than used car salesmen. I'm not a big fan of Tourneau (they never have anything to sell), but at least they're somewhat personabl/knowledgeable.

I speculate that if LBG does get out of Rolex, it will be isolated to the Boylston location. LBG has too many other locations (e.g. Mohegan Sun) to pull out all at once. But who knows? We live in strange times.

Was there today, had a yacht master in the case and a handful of DJs and Cellinis. Worst displays I’ve seen there, and that’s saying a lot Told me, company wide, they’ve seen one BLRO since March. I don’t believe them, but that’s what the SA said. Zero Daytona’s in over a year. Again, I don’t believe them, but maybe....

I'm familiar with Long's having picked up my Daytona from them. It's a matter of the Devil I know... Not certain there really is a friendly option in the Boston area. If I were buying Long's would be my best bet.

I spoke with my SA at longs, and he told me that Sydney Thomas would be losing their AD status when the new boutique opens up on Newbury street. I’m actually at Mohegan sun right now and LBG has some nice stuff in the case considering....

Bluesy
TT Sea Dweller
Explorer II
Deep Sea

And the man at LBG was very personable and knowledgeable.

Only so many DJs and PM pieces you can sell before a local market is saturated. Not surprised

On an unrelated note, does anyone know if the Boston Red Bar group (or something similar) is still active? It would be nice to meet up with some fellow Rolex enthusiasts in the area.
