Limited edition Orange SBDY023 turtle..... thoughts?
Hello
I’ve been fascinated by the seiko brand after I acquired my first GS and seiko, I am thinking of adding a turtle to the collection Here are my criteria I like limited editions or rare models In my collection (between all brands) I have black, white, silver, blue, green and brown dials. I don’t have an orange dial For the above I was thinking of the limited edition orange turtle. This will be bought unseen. Thought? And first hand experience would be highly appreciated! Pics also help!! Thank you!

Limited edition Orange SBDY023 turtle..... thoughts?
I own that one and love it. Very unique, beautiful coloring and the dial shimmers in the light. There’s a two tone effect with the orange dial and inner bezel ring. The blue really compliments it. Comes with a nice blue strap to swap out. Nice box too. The Chinese day wheel is a cool feature. Slight magnification of the day date is a neat touch. Not obtrusive. Orange is my favorite color so I had to have it. If you like this reference, the colors, and the limited edition feature, then I don’t see why you wouldn’t buy it.
I’m on my phone so I can’t search the forum well enough to track down, but I’ve posted a couple pics if you look. This is all I could find but I have one in direct sunlight somewhere in the Seiko forum. Sent from Crapatalk

I believe the nickname is the "Nemo" and I own one. Great watch and the pictures do not do it justice. I have several of the Seiko Divers and this watch punches way outside it's weight class. I have always liked the Doxa watches and was planning on buying one with the orange dial. The Nemo took care of that for me. I had a hard time getting this watch and I believe I paid slightly over retail on mine. I have not kept up with the prices. Go for it. You will not be disappointed.

I didn't like it so much in the top pics where the dial appears more of a flat orange, however it looks stunning in the latter ones, where the sunburst is clearly apparent...I might need to hunt down one of these too....

Nemo is by far my favorite turtle. I like it it even more on rubber strap.
I would suggest JDM version SBDY023 with Kanji date wheel. There are still some brand new out there but you'll pay premium vs SRPC95K1/SRPC95. Looks like just 500 pieces total were produced of both references -SBDY023 I believe just 200. |
