Is it possible to change color dial on SS sky Dweller

HI everyone,

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the color of the dial on a skydweller? If so, how much would it cost.

Thank you

FYI... per local AD, it's not possible. Sorry if already answered my own question.

I would guess anything is possible for the right amount of money. If you can't get a real Rolex dial, maybe some watch shops that modify watches can get one for you. I would imagine Miami and New York have plenty such shops.

I would assume the same. OP, what color dial do you have currently and what color are you trying to change to?

No AD would ever tell you otherwise, lol.

You can absolutely change the dial color, but you'd probably have to source an aftermarket replacement dial- at least for the next few years.

I believe only a RSC is authorized to work on the Sky Dweller and the RSC will not change the dials.

However, you, as the owner of your sky dweller, may authorize anyone you choose to change/modify the dial.

The point is - no watchmaker who wishes to maintain a relationship with Rolex (parts etc) will choose to risk it by working on a Sky Dweller.

I inquired back in June by calling the RSC directly when I bought my SkyD, and it is possible.

They quoted me $1450 for the dial and $200~ labor. It takes about 8-12 weeks for the dial if they don’t have it in stock. They of course keep the old dial.

Unfortunately this may not be true as Rolex is suing a California company that is modifying preowned Rolex and accusing them of counterfeiting. If they succeed with this suit you may find it difficult to get anyone to change the dial. It’s crazy, but it’s California!

While my white SS sky was at RSC Dallas for warranty service. I asked if we could switch dials to blue since they had to open it up anyway. They explained that the blue dial is a limited edition and couldn't swap but for $1800.00 they would swap to a black dial.

What was wrong with your SkyD?

A year back, My local AD offered me white skydweller and I rejected because I wanted the blue dial. They tried to convince me to get the white and change the dial to blue (and keep the white) but honestly I didn't want to dismantle a brand new watch. Recently they told me rolex stopped them from blue dial swapping.

I think it has to be out of warranty first to get another dial.

That's a completely different situation. That company is using the Rolex name as they sell modded watches commercially. (Even so, Rolex's claim looks shaky.)

But you're 100% allowed to modify your own watch or to pay someone else to do so. It's your property.
