Tudor GMT - Are the problems fixed?

I'm thinking about adding a Tudor GMT in 2020, but I remember seeing some threads about issues with its movement, possibly the date window.

Can some owners please chime in about their experience with the watch. Was it a good buy/would you do it again?

Thanks!

Love my Tudor GMT. I had the date window issue a year and a half ago. RSC fixed it. No problems since. Yes, I would definitely buy it again.

Have had mine for a year now with no issues at all. I believe the later models don't have the problem, but you never know when the exact watch you are purchasing was produced so there's always a chance. Even if you get unlucky and it has the problem RSC will take care of it under warranty.

As for the watch itself I absolutely love mine. I think it's a steal for the price. Looks great, keeps excellent time with the in-house movement. Built like a tank. Modern tool watch without all the unnecessary "bling" that we see on many modern Rolex watches. It has become my primary travel watch and I can't think of anything I don't like about it.

Some complain about the thickness but I like it. Unless you plan to wear this watch with dress shirts the thickness is not an issue. Gives it a meatier sportier vibe and the 41 mm diameter is pretty much perfect for a sports watch.

At the price you can't go wrong with a Tudor GMT

I believe the problem is resolved. I purchased one over the summer without issue. Don’t hear much about the issue anymore.

The moment you get this one on the wrist.... you’ll know.

Date issue was fixed by previous owner and no problems since.

Agree completely with this... Tudor GMT is an adventure watch to me. Nothing I’m afraid to do in it. Whereas my BLNR...... a more cautious feeling comes over me.

Looks great with a suit too imho... tweeds and browns, and navy...

Haven't heard much about it lately, so I'm thinking it's probably a non-issue these days.

Great watch...I would absolutely buy it again.

Just bought mine this Monday and noticed the date didn’t change until like 15 mins past midnight. But also, my submariner date didn’t change until a little past midnight as well. So the date doesn’t change exactly at midnight but it does change at a decent time at least haha. So I guess a non issue with me as well.

I bought mine last April, and it’s been running the entire whole time without any problems .

I’ve had mine for nearly 3 months and it’s been completely fine.

As above, it’s a great watch

My BB GMT was originally purchased 12-18 and has run flawlessly since becoming mine last March.

So thrilled I bought this watch. The amazing accuracy, great size, many useful functions, attention to detail, and retro styling make this a home run. Can't take it off my wrist. The colors add a casual sensibility while the more streamline Black Bay handset and indies relay a more sophisticated touch. It's a great modern interpretation of what so many of us love[d] about the iconic watches from the 60's & 70's.

I purchased mine on Aug. 30, 2019 but sent in to RSC on Nov. 22 with date window issue. Haven't received it back yet. So the problem does still exist. Nonetheless, I miss the watch and look forward to getting it back.

I heard that there is a fix for those watches affected, and the new warranty extension should cover everyone nicely. I also heard from my AD (so take it with a grain of salt), that there was quite a pause in shipments and that Tudor has come up with a permanent fix now. Mine's just a month old, so it remains to be seen.

I'm one of the people who had one of the first ones, but never experienced issues. I sold it, but have replaced recently, and I think it's just about the perfect daily wearer.

Great photos! Agree totally with what said. I bought mine in October 19...no issues as yet.

I purchased a BB58 yesterday I’m waiting eagerly for its arrival. I borrowed my buddies GMT and fell in love with it. In fact I was so impressed with it, I don’t see the purpose in buying the Rolex equivalent which I have experience with. Other then the Classic Date Just 36 and Explorer I don’t find Rolex relevant anymore otherwise I’m my purchasing decisions.

Bought mine as a travel watch for work but it never leaves my wrist now. My GMT2 and Subdate have languished in the safe for many months. I would take one over the Jubilee Pepsi and Batman every time. It is the natural successor to the five digit serial Rolex GMT2. My most satisfying watch buy so far. 95% of what you get from a Rolex at less than 50% of the price. Love it.

Mine is a March 2019 and has had no problems with the date so far. If it gets the problem I will send it in - no big deal.
