I'm not really interested in anything in SS at this point. Besides, the current "market" didn't stop me from enjoying anything and everything in SS that I wanted to have a go at. A market adjustment isn't going to suddenly change that for me.

Never say never but I just don’t see myself ever owning a PM. For the price of one PM Rolex I can have 2-3 SS Professionals and a gaggle of less expensive watches. The only ones that kind of catch my eye from time to time are the Oysterflex Daytonas and the classic vintage DayDates.

If the current market, which is a real market and not a quote unquote one, has not stopped you from getting any SS model then why say you did give a rats ass about SS pricing? If it's just playtime for you then your concern for SS pricing or any other pricing should be irrelevant. Since you claimed to be worried about pricing you should be aware that the PM pieces have also been vastly inflated in the past few years and any return to normal will lead to big losses. |

Pm ruined my steel pieces
I’m planning on purchasing a Smurf and WG Daytona on OF in 2020 I have also considered a meteorite WG Daytona recently but after that I think after that I might stop with Rolex for a while and then maybe I’ll start with JLC or Patek.. We’ll see what happens as of now I have a lot of watches that have not had wrist time in a while I have not wore my hulk or black sub in at least a year..

My comment was focussed around how simple the whole process was of buying my 116618 as a nice side effect of choosing a PM Rolex. The current SS Rolex market isn’t what drove me to it, so a change to that market isn’t going to drive me away from it either, hence my not giving a rats ass about what it is doing. Your response really demonstrates how ridiculous this whole SS Rolex business has become.

Affirmative.
It's all good.

I will and do enjoy all my watches and I never feel the need to justify why I have them, to me it is simply a matter of taste. |

Nice! I think with all the inflation on SS models (particularly Pepsi & Daytona’s) might as well look into PM’s. Honestly they are much nicer especially the TT. Example: the YM TT chocolate dial and GMT root beer are a much better purchase than a grey market SS. Now the WG Smurf, WG Daytona or WG Pepsi is a bit more than a grey ss price but well worth it as well. Back to OP I agree once you get used to the PM watches the SS get side lined. After owning a PM Sub, most SS pieces feel light and even flimsy in comparison. However, it is nice to slip on my SS Daytona after wearing the Sub for a stretch. Incredibly comfortable, barely notice it on the wrist.

Nothing beats PM. People usually don’t get the appeal until they wear one.

I prefer SS for sports watches . Have tried on PM numerous times , and may one day end up getting an OF Daytona or YM, but I just enjoy the lighter weight of SS and enjoy the luster of oystersteel. Plus since I get my Rolex watches at msrp and enjoy variety, it’s another argument for SS, which usually costs <60% of PM.
For a dress or non-sports watch, diff story- def prefer PM (with a few Exceptions ). Different strokes for different folks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

For myself the only Rolex I'd consider in PM would be a WG DD40. As far as a sports piece in PM I'd rather spend that extra premium for a different brand, trinity etc.

I love them all. I have a YG Sub black and TT SkyD. The rest are SS. The PM and TT are special so they don't get daily wear. Well with the collection, nothing gets worn more than a few days in rotation. It's nice to have choices.
