Thanks all for the kind responses. It is appreciated.
I went on the website of DavidSW to compare both in HD and there’s no doubt that they look very similar. I already have the black ceramic GMT and, after reading your experiences and seeing these pics, I’m not going to add the Sub. Somehow, I like the black GMT much more than the BLRO and the BLNR, because it’s subdued and I find the minimal touch of green on the dial and GMT-hand attractive. I find the BLRO too “playful” and don’t like the royal blue on the BLNR. Maybe I’m getting old. The only thing I’d like to do is perhaps buy a jubilee bracelet but I’m not sure it would fit the black GMT. I saw a few ones for sale online but will only pull the trigger if I’m a 100% certain they’ll fit without any issue. If someone has any experience with a swap like this, please let me know. |

Totally ok in my opinion. But with the different varieties, I think it would be easy to make them be more distinct from the other...

It depends on how big your collection is. If I owned one or the other, there are about 6 other Rolex's I would buy before adding it. After a while though... duplication in the Rolex line-up seems unavoidable.

Too similar, better a non date Sub and a BLNR, they are different enough to be different.

I don’t have any inside info, but it would seem logical for Rolex to launch a new all-black GMT eventually, with the updates that have been made in the Pepsi and BLNR (new case, new movement, jubilee bracelet). Maybe even as soon as Basel 2020 in the spring. That new GMT would be a bit more different from a Sub due to the different bracelet. Just my speculation though.
