I’m relatively new here, so I apologize for dropping in without having yet contributed! I’m CJ (949-391-3369), and I’m looking for a full-kit, heavy clasp, glacier 118206, without diamonds. Would you knowledgeable folks have a reliable suggestion of where to begin my search? Thank you all, in advance.

Instead of making a new thread might as well ask here.
Is it possible to get a 1,25 or 1.5 link for a 18206, and if so, whats the asking price?
And also, is there a way to "rebuild" the hinge (I have seen several pictures where its either really thing or thick) or what ever the thing is called that I marked Red, I know Rolex can widen the thing so the clasp sits more tight but overtime its will become like it was and you have to widen it again, so whats are the options here?

Thanks for the help.

Hey that looks superb! May I ask if you bought new or used and what is the power reserve/accuracy like compared to the latest movements? I am looking at a used one of those potentially (36mm discontinued in platinum I see). Thanks!

Power reserve of 118206 vs other movements (e.g. 3255)

I just picked up a 118206 as a counterpart to my YG President, both running 3155s, but years apart in production. Power reserve is comparable, which is to be expected, as it is with all of my 5- and 6-digit professionals and some other models. I’ve heard it said that there is a noticeable jump for the newer movement which state 70 hours, but with 6.5-6.75” wrists, that’s not an option for me. Come to think of it, I should start thinking about my incoming for the 118206, haha. Yes, the 36mm PT DDs were very quietly discontinued, so I figured I had to act quickly to grab one.

Out of curiosity I see so many of you went for the blue dials. What do you all think or the rhodium dial that’s available on the 40? And thoughts in comparison to the blue motif.

I like the fact that the blue motif is reserved for the platinum to avoid confusion with the white gold and i just personally love the blue motif design. But honestly to each their own.

I just liked the blue dial. I also do like the fact that the blue dial is reserved for the platinum watch, but it would not make me buy one or not either, it’s just kind of a plus.

Man that darker blue diamond dial is something else! My next move is to graduate from the rose day date to the platinum. Was thinking the ice blue dial but now it's a coin flip!

Here's number 4.

How about a question. My wrist is around 7.3 and I find the bracelet to be big enough but only just. For the last 20 years I've worn an Explorer down on the top of my hand. This new one just gets there but I'm sure that it won't in the warmer summer weather. So the question is...what happens when a guy with a larger wrist buys a new watch from an AD...do they hit him for extra links just to get a fit on day 1?

Yep, you have to pay for an extra link or 1/2 link. Rolex only supples 12 links I think but not 100% sure. Whatever the number is standard, if you need more have to purchase them.

To me, that’s the dial/marker combo to get! What a beautiful timepiece. Congrats
