Sinn U1 Thoughts
Looking for anyone who can provide some thought on the U1 family. Im looking to add a basic tool watch as my everyday and keep coming back to Sinn. I have a buddy who is a fanboy, but wanted some input from you guys.
I've narrowed it down to the U1 models (on rubber). Anything ya'll can provide would be helpful. Seems as though these can be had in the slightly used market in the 1200-1600 range. |

Can't speak to the U1 but love my 757 UTC. Typically wear it on Bonetto Cinturini rubber nato. Love the easy to read dial, added Sinn technology, and tool watch design.
Sinn uses silicone instead of rubber which is a lint magnet. Having said that, Sinners seem to love those since they form fit the case and use a robust Sinn deployant clasp. dP

Having own a Sinn U1 for several months, I would say it is a great watch. Particularly, I luv its construction, character and feel on the wrist. Certainly a great watch to start or have in any collection. Have fun choosing yours.

After four years I can't see a single scratch on mine.
It's a little bit top heavy on my small wrist, but nice with it. |

Hi there - first time poster here. I own a U1 SE. However, I am at a loss as to how to remove the silicon strap. Can’t find any instructions on how to do this online as well. Thinking of swapping to a nato strap. Is it via pushing in the springbars at the outer part of the lug width?
Appreciate any clarifications on this. Else I will need to make a trip to the AD for help haha. :) |

I've owned several U1's, U2's and UX's and have been wearing a UX for a couple of years now. All the previous comments are spot on, especially the one about the strap being a lint magnet. It bugged me so much that I ditched the strap (even though I like the look) and have been wearing it on a bracelet.
One thing to add: if you are small-wristed like me (~6.5") the strap will get small enough but it never felt comfortable (YMMV). The U-series fits me a lot better on the bracelet. |
