Still think it's such an interesting watch, the depths of the blue and color-combos are amazing. It still continues to intrigue me. Been wearing it as a daily for over a year now, it gets 90% of all my wristtime and it really suits any occassion: tuxedo or T-shirt, boardroom or beach loungechair.

Only disadvantage is the scratches. O the scratches... The PCLs, bezel and case have taken quite a beating as a daily watch. But hey it's meant to be worn, I try not to let it bother me but finaly ordered some Cape Cod cloths to buff some of the worst out.
This^

After about 8 months of daily wear I finally ordered some cape cod clothes to touch up the bezel, case and PCL's which got it shined up quite nicely :)

Takes 10 minutes once every few months, not a problem in my eyes.

My vote is for black GV!

I like it's understatedness (is that a word?)

I remember seeing the z-blue in the press pictures and loved the deep blue of the dial. I imagined it would have looked like the sunburst of the Hulk only in a deep sapphire. Upon seeing it in the metal I realised the GV actually washes out a lot of that deep blue colour, making it look almost turquoise under certain lighting.

Still looked better then the black one in my opinion. Would have kept the watch but realised I didn't really need the anti-magnetic function as much as second or third timezone tracking so exchanged for the BLNR.

Had to opportunity to buy another one last year but decided not to as it wouldn't have got much wrist time. Maybe if it came with a deeper darker blue dial to offset the GV glass and a date function then i might get another one.

Have and love the black GV. My daily wearer. I agree with recent comments on the scratches. For a daily wearer the scratches on the bezel and PCLs are a real pain. I too polish lightly with Cape Cod cloth now and then and find it worth it to keep it looking clean. I like a really clean looking watch. So it’s worth it to me. The GV is a gorgeous. I’m so glad it won my collection, one of the most unique watches in the modern Rolex lineup.

I was recently given the opportunity to purchase the Z Blue. Anyone here actually buy both and find it to be worth it? I could see wearing one or the other depending on the day. Anyone doing that now?

One of the reasons that I can't commit to the Milgauss is that the dials are very distinctive. This is evidence in the difficulty of picking the black or blue - as they are both very striking in individual ways. It's more than a simple black or white Oyster Perp choice when you are considering the Milgauss.

I had the black GV and sold it. Now I have the Z-Blue, white, and non-GV black. In term of wrist time the order is white, non-GV black, and Z-blue. I wear them more often than my Daytona or Hulk.

I find the black a bit boring, but the blue is stunning. I just sold mine, but it's still one of my favorite watches. I only did so because I'm working on scaling back my collection to one nice daily and one weekend beater and the blue dial wasn't versatile enough for me to cover that.

If you're interested, definitely go have a look. It's beautiful in person and incredibly comfortable to wear.

You can't go wrong either way. I already had a few black dial watches and wanted something different. The Z-Blue's dial is sufficiently different for me. It's a palette of colours and textures that sound like they will collide in a migraine inducing riot. But they don't. It's a cheeky result that works visually. I like the black dial too. Your money, your life, your choice.

P.S. "Humble" it is not.

Black GV for me, but...

I'm not sure you can make a terrible choice with any of the Milgauss dial options. I love them all.

Here's mine:

My first Milgauss was the black non gv, loved the matte dial and outer orange markers but i never bonded with it as the Zblue kept haunting me the whole time until i traded for it. The green crystal with that blue dial just steals the show for me, there is nothing else like it, everytime i put it on its a smile maker.

I bought the Z Blue and have no regrets. I prefer it to the black dial because there are lots of other potential black dials to purchase (although granted not with the GV). The Z Blue is unique. It is not a watch that flies under the radar so that's a potential issue for some.

I really want the blue. I have my name on the wait list at two local ADs, hopefully it isn't a long wait.

I’ve owned both the GV and ZBlue. I think I bonded more with the Z Blue. Both cool though.

Have both the white and z Blue Milgauss - switch back and forth regularly. Blue over black.

Hard for me to decide but everyone seem to love the blue but you can't go wrong with either.
