Not all watch attention is good. Pick pockets love watches as well.

I have worn Rolexes since 1973 and only about 5-6 times has anyone commented on my DJ, Sub or GMT. Each time it make me feel a little awkward since I was not expecting my watch being noticed. The worst time was in Copenhagen, Denmark two years ago when I was in that city to start a cruise. The person who noticed, I now assume was a pick pocket. I bumped into him twice the same day within about 4 hours time frame outside of the Tivoli Gardens amusement park.He wanted to engage me in conversation but I was not interested. Then he tried to apologize and offered me his hand to shake hands but he offered me his left hand and I was wearing my watch on my left arm. I refused to shake hands and now guess he was going to get my watch and looking over his shoulder I noticed another person watching us both and I now assume that was his partner in crime. Refusing to engage him and not allowing him to shake my hand probably saved my watch. Bumping into someone twice in 4 hours on the streets is not a coincidence and I was just damn lucky that day to not lose my watch. So now if someone might notice my watch I assume it might not be a good thing.

Is it possible to pick a watch on a bracelet...? It will need to slide off your hand and I am not sure you could do this without me noticing.
Whenever I have seen magic tricks where they take your watch it is always on a strap..

Since you live in Virginia there is a law in our state that allows us certain privileges that police officers have. If you use that privilege it acts as a big deterrent for thieves and those with evil intentions.
