Green Dial All YG GMT

I've been thinking more and more about PM Sub or GMT (probably would go YG). After having owned and worn the Hulk since November, really liking the idea of a green dial.

How rare is the YG GMT green dial and how long of a run did they produce them? You won't find them in the AD's case anymore and they don't appear for sale pre-owned too often.

Cheers!

Not rare-I think they started producing them in 2005 or so and just stopped fairly recently. Great watch, tho.

Rare is subjective and relative...and in the world of Rolex, opaque. I think the green dial YG GMT was produced in far fewer quantities than say the YG Sub LB, but I would stop short of calling it rare.

Hi,

It is a gorgeous piece. They were made from 2005 till around '14 or 15. As noted rare is subjective and only Rolex knows but I can tell you seeing a YG GMT II in the wild is rare and I have never seen another with a green dial. I would suspect only a small percent of them had the green dial.

It's one of my favorite watches.

Very true about rarely seeing them in the wild. I spend a lot of time in Beverly Hills, where Rolex is a dime a dozen and I have only seen one GMT YG/green in the wild. I have seen many more Daytona C white dials or other YG sports watches.

I have had a green dial 116718 since about 2009. I used to travel extensively for work and have never seen one in the wild (unless you count Brad Pitt in Ocean’s 13). I also have never received as many compliments on any watch I have owned. Values in the secondary have risen (but all the YG sport watches have). The rarity is unique.

I've always been a sucker for green dials, and this has caught my eye before. I have only seen it once at an AD, but it made an impression. Was out of my price range then...

Hope you can find one mate, keep us posted!

One of my favorite pieces that I own. The green dial really softens up the yellow gold. Winner for sure!
