Icon4 Basel 2020 Off-The-Wall Prediction

As I peruse the forums looking for a yellow gold sub, something came to mind... has anyone else noticed that Rolex does not yet make a full rose gold/two tone rose gold sub? I’m thinking we will see maybe one or both of these introduced this year along with the new movement. Thoughts??

Rolex may introduce RG into the Sub lineup when they update it. Given the popularity of the TT GMT in RG, I could see that before full RG.

I can see the introduction of a green dial YG Sub since green is trending.

I have a sneaking suspicion that we’re going to see something with the DJ — isn’t the DJ 75 years ‘old’ this year?

Maybe this is the year we see the return of the Turn-o-graph, or a new Thunderbird.

That’s the sleeper release IMHO. Everyone gets stuck on the Professional line. I don’t expect much there. Maybe some additional RG options - and ceramic on the TT Daytonas.

Will the sub get updates? Who knows. Personally I doubt it. There’s just no real ‘need’.

I’m still waiting for a Cellini PC....

Basel 2020 Off-The-Wall Prediction, well if its anything like the past 20 odd years total disappointment especially from Rolex.

Discontinue Jubilee Batman and replace with Coke. Discontinue Oyster TT Root Beer and replace with Jubilee Root Beer.

John Mayer does another Hodinkee interview in which he cites the Yachmaster 2 two-tone as his most desirable underappreciated reference. It immediately skyrockets.

Months later he says it was a goof. Lemmings are sad.

I'm surprised Philipp Stahl hasn't released his Basel report for 2020. He usually has a few correct predictions on what is coming from Rolex.

LOL.. (Please don't throw me off the site for this.. g-d knows I deserve it).

A cross platform project between Apple and Rolex. A Rolex Presidential with an apple watch stuck where a Rolex movement belongs. (similar to what Tag Heuer did a few years ago with their modular watches)

Personally, over the last few years I think Rolex is trying to differentiate the Sub and GMT product lines more than in the past. Use of PM's is one of them.

Yellow gold = Submariner line
Rose gold = GMT line

And never the two shall cross.

The AD i deal with said this is a strong possibility. There's been some images floating around online that look pretty sharp. Not sure if the AD's even know anything for certain ahead of time but he said basically everyone in his dealer network is expecting this to happen.

they won't do it but many people know what they need to do.
1) fix the maxi case lugs
2) 38mm DJ. (a real 38, not a made up size like they do at the minute)

we don't need more cartoon characters or colours. Just those 2 fixes will go a long way. Of course we won't be able to buy them but that's for another thread.

I hope they will not update the case of the current SUB C other than just updating its movement. I also dont expect the release of the blue ss sub as it will cut the sales of the HULK.

What do you guys think?
