Debris inside crystal from dial?

I just purchased an X Series GMT II and have noticed some small white pieces of debris floating inside the crystal. Its an older series watch so its possible it may have come ofF the dial. But my question is it ok to leave it there or should I have them removed? I have contacted the seller (Portero) and they said to send it back to them and they will have them removed but I'm a bit hesitant of have a non-RSC do this type of work.

Also, how do you adjust the second time zone hand?

Thanks in advance.

Are they a well respected watchmaker that would be opening her up. If so go for it. I have my beloved at a local watchmaker as we speak. He's been in business localy for like 40 years and i know it's in good hands for a service.

If it is a tritium dialed GMT, the tritium lume may have cracked and fallen off one of the markers or hands, It would certainly be a good idea to have it taken care of so it does get into the movement. There are quite a few TRF members that have used Dalton & Bob Ridley (who are also members) to service there pieces and I would trust them more than a RSC!
As far as setting the time on your GMT II, the unscrew the crown, the first position winds the watch, the second position adjusts the "jump" hour hand & date and the third position will stop the second hand and allow you to adjust the 24 hour hand, hour hand & minute hand. You may have to alternate between position 2 & 3 to quickly set the 24 hour hand where you want it.

Your local ad can do it for your for no charge. It will take them less than twenty minutes for the whole ordeal.

There's a white fleck on the dial of my Daytona. Its on the rim and if you look at it under a microscope it looks like white grease. My AD and I speculate that its a bit of lube used on the gasket under the crystal. Might be the same thing you have?

Since the watch is new he told me to wait until a month or so before the warranty runs out and then send it in. The speck hasn't moved in months and I can hardly notice it so I'm ok.

Thanks for all the replies. I will take it to a local AD to have it checked out. There are a few specks that are loosely moving around. Must be from the Tritium dial.

I took it to my local Mayors and had them look at it. The debris is from the tritium dial but it also turns out the the 24 hour hand is bent so it needs to be replaced. Looks like the GMT is going back so I'm back in the market for another GMT, preferably a newer 3186 or good condition 1675 pepsi or root beer.
