White tag new Rolex not given?
I was surprised with this policy. I assumed it would be part of the full set when buying from an AD. Anyone else experience this? The manager started it was considered part of their inventory.

The white bar code tag has always been an inventory control for Dealers.
Usually they will give it to you after they have scanned it and no longer need it. Some, however, keep them for auditing review.

I picked up my BLRO yesterday and received the white tag, green plastic medallion, coffin and bezel protector. Of course, I also got the inner and outer boxes, manuals, warranty card and leather holder.

To be honest that’s not something I’ve ever paid any attention too.

Many of us haven't gotten the white tag. I don't know too many people who are hung up about it. *shrug*

I have always received all the tags, but the stickers. My AD did stop giving the watch shipping coffins for some reason. Come to think of it, he brings out the watch from the safe, without the coffin. I have never cared for the coffin anyways, so I never asked if I could have it.

I just bought a SD43 in January from an AD in Aruba and they kept it stating they had to send it back to Rolex - I said you're joking right? But I didn't argue as they were not budging on it :)

You should have pushed them until you get everything. They would have to give it to you. |

No its not part of their inventory. It has the serial number of the watch and is very important evidence when selling the watch proving that the watch is not stolen as noone else will walk outside with tags. You should have pushed them very calmly until you got your tag.

Being a good customer they will go the extra length of photoscanning the white tag and subsequently hand it to you. For the rules set in motion by Rolex in 2018 November that were mandatory for shops worldwide it included not giving out the coffin and peeling off stickers. Heard that excuse before too. They don't send them back. Imagine Rolex just gets a mail with a bunch of white tags in them; what are they going to do with them? Rolex sent it to them in the first place!! |

Because many read on the internet and brainwashed into thinking that this item is the most important thing since sliced bread, and as we all know if its on the net it must be true.

Add to this that today's Rolex buyers are not the same as years ago. We used to buy these timepieces because we liked them, we enjoyed them and we used them. Who cared about the white tag, COSC tag, bezel protector, etc? Nowadays buyers think in Rolex as an investment, in their minds there is always the possibility of reselling.

This subject is often posted about. The search function is your friend.
The white tag is not important. You may get it, you may not. It doesn't matter. Just enjoy the hell out of your new watch. |

Ok, I’m over the fact that I didn’t receive the white tag with my SD43. I appreciate all the input. Oh, and they also removed all the stickers from it before I left the store.

When I purchased my BLNR in 2016 and DaytonaC in 2019 from the same AD, the SA at both times stated they were required to keep the white tag for inventory control or something. I kinda pushed and insisted on having it both times, SA just took a photocopy of it with the warranty card and gave it to me. Times have changed now, some ADs want to keep everything.
