Faded gilt font on YG 16808

I picked up this 16808 recently and am absolutely in love with it- have the original papers too. The only question is the font is slightly faded where it is legible under certain lighting conditions but fades out in others. I’ve seen some dials on sale for a few grand - is it worth buying one and and swapping it out? Obviously these are getting harder and harder to get in good condition.

Probably not worth it in purely financial terms, but it might be worth it for your own enjoyment of the watch. So it's 100% a personal decision for you to make.

The text and dial colors on this Ref. aren’t as contrast-y and will always appear to be more muted. Hopefully you’ll begin to appreciate the subtlety; it’s a great looking watch...keep as is.

Slightly off topic can anyone tell me the difference between the 16618 and the 16808?

Very nice watch btw!

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the feedback. This is all original except the crown which was replaced so I wanted to keep it as clean as possible. :)

16618 is newer. Therefore, you're going to have a no lug holes case, possibly an engraved rehaut, certainly a glossy (and non-nipple) dial.

I would leave it as-is. Congrats! It doesn't get much better than that.
